Legs get tired before workout

I have an eliptical machine that I purchased in the summer. My prefered exercise is to walk outside for long distances with my head phones on. However, it is darn cold out. I am trying to use this eliptical machine but i have two problems.

1) It has a weight limit of 275 and i weigh over 300

2) My legs get tired before the rest of me gets any type of workout. (about 15 minutes). I recently went to the doctor and had a bunch of tests and i am in overall good health except for being overweight. I am not sure what i should do; give up on the eliptical and find something else or to keep at it and try to build up my endurance in my legs.

Suggestions?

work on building your endurance... keep at it and eventually you'll get your time up there but just keep at it..

What are you doing about your food plan? diet is critical if you're trying to lose weight...

Hi Ted. Chances are it's just a matter of needing to build up endurance, as you said. If they're dangerously weak or in pain, that's a different matter, but I know well the sensation of feeling my legs will give out because they simply aren't used to the activity. Stick with it and no doubt soon you'll notice improvement. Then you can start increasing the number of minutes slowly, just a couple at a time.

Keep us updated on how it goes! :)
