Hey there I leave July 5th for Army basic and I wanna lose 30 lbs. I am 6' 224lbs and a year ago I dropped 50 lbs in ~5months. I have the motivation and dedication to pull it off but a fairly good sized bet hangs in the midst between myself and my recruiter as to whether I can become sub 190 before I leave. Any advice before I hit the ground runnin? My biggest concern is diet. last time I dropped that weight from 230 to 180 I did low carb cheese/meat/ salad diet and that worked fine but Im willing to skim some more to lose weight faster. Help me out! 64 days and counting!!

don't worry you'll have week zero at basic which is longer than a week unless you meet the physical standards before.

You know you have a pt test to take so just start practicing the 2 mile run push-up and so fort daily-you will want to try to condition your body alot because it will give you somewhat a upperhand for when you arrive at basic-I would try to loose some more because you dont want to be stuck in inprocessing fat camp while your buddies go to their normal companies. Also you will lose during the first weeks in basic-but the food there is also good and if your drill sergeant lets you eat what you wants it may be easy to keep the weight on.

good on you for choosing to do it and being able to do it. Just remember not to starve your body to much :)
