Hi everyone. I'm Laura, i'm 16 and im pretty much a newbie. Having read other diaries i decided this was for me as pretty much i know how to diet i just am an expert in breaking them.

So my start weight is 159
My first goal is 159
And my final goal is 126 but maybe a bit lower if i feel like it later on.
Oh and im about 5"7 maybe 8 i havent measured my height for a while.

I have my school prom coming up in a bit its June 25th so im hoping by then to have about 14lbs thats about 3.5lbs a week but i am determined to do it so i know i can.

I have taken up running. Not far just around the block but i am training to be a lifeguard so i'll be taking up swimming again soon as well to get in shape, plus the added motivation of having to wear a swim suit at work.

Wow this is long!! Anyway i am trying to stick to about 1200 calories a day and go for a run as well which seems to work for me. Really i just need somewhere to talk when i get a craving and as i am on GCSE study leave at the moment, the second i get bored revising i head for the biscuits, but now i will head here!

Hi Laura!

You can loose the weight, just stick to it. I'm doing a 1200 cal diet too, and when I stick to it (its not hard, just gotta make up your mind your going to do it) I do tend to loose 3 pds a week.

If you need any tips for the 1200 cal diet...let me know

Thx newbride02 for the comments. I'm ok for now with the diet but if i need any more help i'll let you know.

Feeling pleased as it seems to be working. I went for a run yesterday so am feeling fit, have managed to go everyday for the last three days so far. Today is going to be a challenge as today is my first GCSE exam. I am well prepared but am determined not to have any chocolate regardless of how it goes. Will post again later with how it goes :)

Good morning Laura :D Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have a great plan in place :D Determination and good attitude will get you far :D Just remember when it gets tough to stick with what you're doing and come here for support :D Good luck on your exam :D

Hope Your Doing Well And Have A Great Day Welcome To The Forum!

Have had my exam and it went well, so that is deff a gd thing. I also managed to avoid chocolate so i am doing well. BUT my biggest achievement is that i just had dinner and when my mum offered me garlic bread i said NO! I love it so much it is one of my favourite foods. While she looked suprised i realised that this time i am going to do it this time and lose weight and i didn't really want the bread that much anyway lol :)

Thanks jelly_belly88 i always forget to drink my water!

I am feeling very very happy as there is this route i always walk every day, it normally takes me about 15 minutes and today i ran it ALL!!! Well more like a slow jog and it only took me 9 and 1/2 minutes! I am sooo pleased, i can feel myself getting fitter and this is only my first proper week !!!

Good for YA !!!!!! You deserve to feel great about yourself. That could be a goal for the month. To improve your run time on that trail. Give yourself a challenge :D Have a awesome day and get that WATER in

Well, as jelly_belly88 suggested went on that run again. Felt a lot more tired this time and got a stich but when i got back i had taken a minute off my time :). I think i'm going to keep doing the same route this week then next week go a bit further.

Great job on the run time, Laura! :D You're doing great! Hope today is a great one for ya :D

Have been running again and have gone FURTHER!!! I'm actualy starting to enjoy it, so it is becoming less of a chore. This will probably be the last chance i get to post for a few days. It is half term and am going away until Thursday. See you soon!!

Glad to hear it! I"ve only recently begun to realize I enjoy excersize!

Hope you have a good week!

I'M BACK
If you hadn't realised i am back!! Wow I have been gone for a while, my diary was on page 3!!! Well this week has been a test of my will power. Have made some good food choices (fruit for breakfast instead of pancakes) and some rubbish ones (ice cream for lunch) BUT i have managed to exercise and did 3km in under half an hour twice and went for walks and swims on other days and i managed to maintain! I was so surprised i honestly thought i had put on weight, it just shows me that i can go away and not pig out every day but i don't have to miss out on everything!

You sound like your exercise program is really helping a lot. It's always good to do a variety of things and the fact you enjoy doing them obviously helps a lot too.

I envy anyone who can run, I can only manage about 6 minutes of it myself.

YAY!!!!!!!! I am Very HAPPY for you!!!!! You are doing AWESOME.. Keep it up.. And your runs are going so well. you are going longer and faster. You gotta come train me :p Have A WONDERFUL weekend and drink your WATER

Mornin' Laura :D You are doing great! :D Hope you have a wonderful day :D

Am feeling more positive. Had an awful day Saturday, you know one of those days where you wake up and you know things are going wrong. Anyway managed to limit it and am feeling better today having been bothered to get out of bed to go running!!

Had such an awful day yesterday. I don't know why but every time i am doing well i have to go and sabotage myself. Anyway today i was determined to do better, until lunch time when i was standing with a cookie in my hand debating whether to eat it. I managed to put it down and i realised i am ok without having it. I was laughing silently later though when my GCSE English article was all about healthy eating and exercise and would i recommend my diet to others :)
