Latest Addition

Hi.

New member to the forum here. I've been working out to stay fit for several years, but "fell off the wagon" for about 8 months due to a change in jobs and moving to a new location (Ohio). So with all the excitement (and boxes) that come with buying and moving into a new home and learning your way around a new area, my workout routine over the past year has been anything but routine.

I have been back into training again since March, trying to shed a few extra pounds and increase strength and endurance. Right now, I am training for a half-marathon in September, so my focus has been on speed and endurance running with some strength training added to develop my core and help with the fat burn.

I've checked out a few other forums on the web and hope I have finally found one that might be more focused on the sport aspect of fitness and healthy living rather than the social aspects of weight loss and eating disorders. I need something a little less over the top than some of the body building forums out there.

I stick to healthy eating as much as possible, believing moderation has its place in a healthy lifestyle that is maintainable for the long term. I stick with all natural foods as much as possible, and try to avoid artificial sweeteners, etc. I am also not a big fan of supplements personally, so that is probably why I tired of the body building boards so quickly.

I am looking forward to chatting with folks, learning a thing or two, and possibly passing on a few of my experiences along the way.

Cheers,
Dean

Welcome Dean-- from what I've seen, this forum is very focused on lifestyle fitness changes and not just body building or eating disorders (although I've found my own eating habits sort of sucked when I started tracking so closely).

Thanks for the welcome. Yes, From what I have seen so far, these forums seem to be a little more level-headed than some of the others that I have found.
