Largeinaz's Diary

Hi, my name is Lonnie and I've decided to finally start to work on my weight problem. I was shocked about 2 weeks ago when I went to the doctor and found out that I weighed 354lbs (I thought it was impossible for me to ever lose weight). I had been as high as the 390's back around Christmas but then I went on the South Beach diet for a while. I've been working out regularly since and I've cut out the junk food and went back on a diet kinda like south beach now I'm down 10lbs to 344lbs. I can't believe I've let myself go so badly the last 10 years. To motivate myself I've posted a current pic. Any advice would be welcomed.

Been a rough week but and I haven't had a chance to weigh myself but I'm down 2 inches in my waist!! I have more energy and I actually think I can do this

hey Lonnie :) welcome to your diary

anmd awesome for 10lbs and 2 inches, that is wonderful progress. i think its wonderful you got rid of all the junk. here on the forum you will find excellent advice on healthy weight loss.
do you have a plan on how to do this?

I've been really trying harder this past week. I'm down to 330lbs and I'm full of energy. I ride my stationary bike at least an hour a day and am being more careful with my food choices. I have finally accepted the fact that I didn't put this weight on overnight so I can't expect it to come off over night. I have decided I like my lifestyle change and I'm going to stick with it.

Great job so far. Slow and steady wins the race here. It's good that you realized that all of this will take time. Ease yourself into these lifestyle changes that are up ahead and learn from your experiences. Your loss so far has been amazing. It'll come off very quickly at first. When it slows down just keep at it. In time you'll be happier and healthier than you thought you could be!

I have decided to join a gym because I think I would benefit from a personal trainer. I'm just worried I'll be the biggest guy in there or I'll be so heavy I break a machine

I'm so excited and I am motivated once again. I'm getting a free 90 day pass to 24hour fitness and I intend on using it. This is really saving my life. I was so worried about breaking a machine but I've been set strait and feel so much better.

well that is wonderful :) what is your diet plan? i hope you didn't cut out too many calories, because that will only hurt in the long run.
you just keep going. i'm rooting for you.

Lena

I meet with the guys at 24hr fitness tomorrow and I'm so excited!!! My weight only went down a pound this week but I've had several non scale victories.
1)I'm able to walk my daughter to and from school daily with no problems. (I used to get winded going to the mailbox.)

2)My favorite shirt now fits again in fact it's a bit loose. :)

3) I can put my own shoes on and tie them. I know that the fact that I needed help back when I was in the 390's last Christmas is pathetic but now I don't have to worry about it anymore.

4) I no longer need my inhaler.

and 5) My kids are actually wanted me to go play with them outside now. They used to be embarrassed of me.

I can't wait til I break into the 200's so that I can leave the 300+ club

they are great achievements :)

Super good job ! The 200 club is waiting for you, and you'll be there in no time !

I like the fact your fave shirt fits you, i bought a small dress off the net this week and im going to hang it up for inspiration and motivation to one day fit in it. when i do... wowwww. i'll go crazy :p

Anyhoo nice to meet you :) keep on shedding those lbs :)

WOW!!! I love the gym!!! I went to 24 hour fitness today and it was awesome. I worked out harder than I ever have before and the weird part is I have like this energy buzz now. If hard workouts always feel this way after then I'm hooked. I've started watching my diet more this week and now that I'm going to the gym I can't wait to see what happens this week.

Right on Lonnie!!!

Keep it up man...

We need almost the same amount of weight off of us, and I am pulling for you my brother. You CAN do this. Something that has helped me tremendously is the following link to fitday. This has been a lifesaver as far as keeping caloric intake. It's really easy to use, and I think you would benefit a great deal.

Keep up the good work and stay strong. We are going to win this thing and get out of the 300+ club real soon.

Thanks I'll give it a try. I haven't really been keeping track of calories just eating better healthier food so maybe it'll help

I'm down to 320lbs! I only have 100lbs to go til my goal weight. I feel so much better but the weird thing is the last few days I haven't been working out or eating very good because my dad's in the hospital and I've been visiting him a lot but I lost weight. That's really weird maybe it's because I keep using the stairs instead of the elevator and have to park so far away

Been a rough week but this is a life long change not just some quick fix. The gym down the street finally opened and now I can go more often than just 2 times a week. One thing I've decided is I need to stop weighing myself every day but do it at most once a week because it can really suck out all your motivation.

I've been working out hard at the gym and I've noticed my energy has increased so much. I love using the elliptical the most because I can feel it all over my body when I'm done. I really need to figure out some exercises that will add more core strength but it's hard when my abs are made of jello.

Went to the gym to see about getting a personal trainer and I found out my Body fat is 40.1% now I think that's great because just a couple months ago I was over 50%. The trainer really kinda let into me with the whole your going to die if you stay fat and the you need to exercise more routine. I've been going to the gym 5 days a week and I've lost over 60lbs this year yet this guy acted like I've done nothing. He even said that I needed to hire him for sessions twice a week for the next 72 weeks just so that I can get my body to the poor shape level by then. I thought trainers were supposed to motivate ou not make you want to stop going to the gym. Whats up with that

Been awhile since I posted on here. I've been working more on resistance training for the last few weeks. My weight is staying around the same spot but my waist is getting smaller and my over all my body is really staring to firm up. I can actually see muscle under my flab now
