Lack of Sleep Can Lead to Weight Gain

Many people find it losing weight hard and are frustrated with the results they get. If you are one of these people maybe you are making one mistake: You don’t sleep enough.

Research has shown that lack of sleep increases insulin levels in the blood, which leads to weight gain. Besides the many other health benefits, getting enough sleep is essential to long term weight loss.

i can only get 6 or less hours of sleep at night becuase of my schedule. However the next day i nap for like 2 hours. I've lost 26.5 lbs since june 1 2007.

Good motivation to exercise during the day to tire myself out!

I've also read that stress is likely to slow down your weight loss, and stress can be caused by lack of sleep. Good idea to keep sleep a priority.

This is a big thorn in my weight loss side. I sleep maybe 6-7 hours a night and am having the worst time losing weight. I'm also stressed due to school committments, but I exercise 3-4 times a week at the gym fo 1-2 ours. I also eat sensibly with a few cheat days here and there (last night was a good example). I don't know what's wrong with me, but I'm blaming sleep and stress.
