Knee Pain When Groin Stretching

Hi

I am currently groin stretching for 10 minutes twice a day as I train in full contact karate but when I do, I am getting a lot of pain on the inside of my knees; is anyone able to tell me whey this might be?

My wife is convinced that it is tendons but i'm not sure; feels more like something to do with the joint itself! I have never been very flexible and done little exercise up until the past year or so, therefore assume it may go away the more I do but I would rather have some certainties if I can!

Any advice that you can give me will be gratefully receieved.

Regards

Ken

Hi!

I'm Having some SERIOUS knee pain issues really pissing me off! I've Been stretching For 1 year and 2 weeks For 1,5 hour every day and what i've progressed is à knee pain... I Have severe pain in The inside of bouth of my knees. The thing is, i feel The pain when i stretch in split. Another strange thing is that before warmup i Can do split For more Then like 45 degrees without feeling The ginourmous pain, it's true, Tho when i've warmed up and stretched For à while i Can do The split For like 120 degrees. Please helt me With this insane inside knee pain... Example right knee has pain on Left side vise versa...

Please help!!!

With the exception of traumatic injuries, knee pain is almost always a result of inflexibility. Even if you do stretch as often as you can (which you shouldn't be doing unless you're already warmed up, by the way) it still isn't always enough to remedy the problem. I'd suggest getting a foam roller to work out tightness with. (Pay attention to your IT bands.)

Honestly though, you should really see a physiotherapist about it, both of you. Nobody online can assess the actual problem.
