Hi everyone,

This is my second time on the forum, I was on here a good few years ago and back in 2013 I managed to loose a heap of weight - I went from 102kgs down to 64kgs at my smallest. I managed to maintain between 65-70 kgs for about a year or so but then it all went down all! , I got in to a relationship with a lovely guy and everything was fabulous, I was so happy and had more confidence than I ever had :) , unfortunately the next few years were quite a rollercoaster - Lost my job, struggled finiancially and had a lot going on. We developed some pretty bad habbits as we both love our food and drink! , In March last year partner injured his knee and had to have reconstructive surgery, he put on quite a bit of weight and I have too!. I think im close to being back to where I started. I haven't actually weighed my self so I don't know my number on the scale is , but im wearing anywhere from a size 16/18/20 NZ/UK.
I do know that im very uncomfortable where I am at the moment and im so annoyed at my self since I worked so damned hard to loose it all in the first place.

So anyway here I am .. 2017 im in a much better headspace , time for the both of us to take control of our lives.Going home tonight to write up a plan for us both food/exercise wise.

I found writing in here helped a lot and having support from everyone was awesome so im hoping it will help again.

to be continued!

Hi kiwigal & welcome back to the forum. You did it before so you know you can do it again. Being uncomfortable is the worse thing with carrying excess weight I think. The forum is more active now than it was back in 2013. There are lots of awesome, lovely, supportive people. You can do this hon, I'm sure xo Cate

Hey Kiwigal! Welcome (back) to the diaries. Have you got a plan in mind?
Best of luck, LaMa.

thanks for the warm welcome back guys!, very cool to see some familiar faces still around here :)
The plan is to sort out our eating, slowly make changes , cut out sugary drinks and drink a sh*t ton of water instead, drasticly reduce our carbs (we love bread and pasta!), cut down alcohol, protein and veges for dinner, salads for lunch + healthy snacks. Then Join a gym! , I know a lot of people say you don't need to join a gym to get fit but I found it really helpful the first time round.
As partner has had knee surgery he will find out from the dr what excercises will be appropriate to do and then hopefully we can both hit the gym together. First time round I did this by my self so I think this time it will be great to have some one to do it with.
Iv made some small changes already , before Christmas I started going on a 20 min/half hour walk in my lunch break at work almost everyday and in the last 2x weeks I haven't bought any energy drinks or bad sugary stuff. We will do a big healthy grocery shop next week and start stocking up.
Weather is looking a bit crappy today - I hope it holds out so I can go for my lunchtime walk, iv been working on walking a bit longer distance each week .
Feel exciting and looking forward to these changes!

Sounds like a solid plan and doing it together is definitely very helpful. Also: every ounce helps after knee surgery.
