Hi everyone!
I was on this site like a year ago and starting going to the gym every morning and running - also eating right! Well, that lasted about 4 months before it came to an abrupt halt. Even after the 4 months I didn't really notice a change in my weight, which was kind of discouraging. I sort of fluctuated between 127-122 pounds the entire time (I'm 5'1 and 26 years old).
So, this year I jumped on the scale and it said 134 - which is the heaviest I've ever been. I'm not horrifically overweight, but I didn't want to let it keep going until I was! My husband and I love to eat bad things (think Taco Bell) and love going out to eat. So, I made a comment to my husband that I weighed 134 and it's the most I've ever weighed and how uncomfortable I was. He could use to shed a few pounds too (he's 5'8/5'9 and weighs around 187), and he suggested cardio kickboxing as something we can do together to get back in shape.
We went to our first class a month ago, and I was hooked. It was fun, exhausting, and an amazing workout. The next day it hurt to laugh, i could barely pick up my arms enough to wash my hair, and I was sore EVERYWHERE else! Since then, we signed up for the class and I have been going 6x a week. I find that because I go to kickboxing so often and it's exhausting that I don't want to eat the bad things as much. I always keep melon in the house and fruit is my new snack of choice. I'm vegetarian and have been drinking protein shakes and bars as well.
I haven't weighed myself since I started this a month ago (I don't plan on weighing myself for another month) but my clothes are fitting better, I think. My goal is to lose 15 pounds - I'm not sure if I can do it, but I'm sure going to try!
My husband and I want to try for kids before I'm 30, so I'm eager to get into shape before we try!
