Kettlebell hurting my wrists

I just started working out with a kettlebell, I can't afford to find proper training nor would I even know where to look. I've watched videos, read things and looked at screenshots, as far as I can tell I'm doing the workouts properly, and I'm avoiding taking impact from the weight, but I can't escape the sheer weight of it alone putting a lot of pressure on my forearms, anyone else ever had this problem? Is it just wrong technique?

Could you just be using too much weight? It might be worth trying a lower amount until you're comfortable with the exercises.

too much weight

Sounds right to me. I enjoy one day a week in which I work out with higher reps and light to medium weights. For example, I may drop 30 - 40 lbs off my normal bench and 7 - 10 lbs off hand weights and kettle bells. (Keep in mind I am only 150 lbs to start with. You should size accordingly.)

I find it elongates my muscles and in general feels pretty nice. maybe try this technique one day with your kettle bells and see how that feels?

If that is the only form of exercise you are doing, it is probably because you haven't developed the strength in your wrists yet.

I use Kettlebells all the time, tell us which exercises are hurting you. Is it from the bell hitting you, or from you trying to control the rotation of it in your hand?

what exercises are you doing?

it's also important to realize when you are supposed to let your wrists just give in and hang- ie: a turkish get-up, overhead tri-cept press. On curls you should keep a loos grip and do your curl slowly, or it will bang ya!
