Kettlebell advice

I want to start working with weights and heard a Kettlebell is really effective but I still have some questions.

Now after some researching here on the board I now know that doing weights is really good for weight/fat loss and building muscle (hello captain obvious!) and since I've hit a bit of a plateau, I want to change my work-outs a bit and hit the weights.
So far, I haven't incorporated weights into my routine much, just been doing a small section on a (aerobics) dvd with 0.5 kilo weights.
That hasn't been doing much for me cause the weights are probably not heavy enough.
Kettlebell seems like fun, and I already seen a 10 minute solutions dvd that uses the Kettlebell and want to try that out but my real question is (yep, finally we get to that), what will be the right weight for me?
The come in many sizes and weights, but I was looking at 2.5 kilo's and a 5 kilo one, which one would be best for me to use?
Or should I get a lighter one?

Some background info, I'm a 26 y/o female, 5'1 and weigh around 171.4 lbs and I exercise about 3 to 5 times a week (aerobics) and count calories.
I really wished I could go to a gym but I can't afford that so I need to work-out at home (thought I should also mention that).

If you are doing kettlebell swings, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE learn to get your form right. Your back will HATE you if you screw the form up. I say look at several videos on YouTube about kettlebell swings, and learn to move your hips and basic squat exercises. Start with a lighter kettlebell weight helps too.

Thanks, I'll check out those video's on youtube and get a lighter kettlebell.
The internet is very confusing about which weight to start with though, some sites say the beginner weight for women is 8 kilo's the other says 16 kilo's :s

Hi there, I started kettlebells 2 weeks ago at the gym, started on 8kg, you use your body to lift it so its not that heavy.

last session I had to use a 12kg, the trainer really pushed me!

Amazing workout - be prepared to be VERY sore!!
