KDbug's Path to a Healthier Life!

Here's to the start of my very own weightloss journal!

My Plan:
--- Avoid fatty foods
--- Eat fresher foods
--- Eat smaller portions (probably my biggest problem - I don't know when to tell myself to stop!)
--- Exercise at least once a day
--- Kick depression & obesity's ass.

I've made myself this way because:
I love to eat, and unfortunately, all of the wrong things. I'm a huge (har har!) chocolate fan and have no willpower -- until now. ;) Oh, and I was a snacker.

Goal:
Short Term: 200 lbs
Short Term2: 170 lbs (BMI would be considered "overweight" and no longer "obese")
Long Term: 145 (Healthy!)
Total Weight to Lose: 109 lbs.

Weekly Weight ins:
June 1: 254 lbs (Though, I did weight myself fully clothed at night.)

I have two huge issues that I need to get over.

Motivation & Excuses. I get really motivated and then I find excuses to break my diet/exercise routine. I've been really good today - it's surprising, actually - and I want to go to bed tonight knowing that I don't have to regret eating that brownie or drinking five glasses of sweet tea.

I went for a walk this morning with the babe. I was planning on putting her in the carrier and "wearing" her, but the route I take is pretty vigorous (HUGE hills that I can barely get over walking by myself). I put her in the stroller and I did the walk in 20 minutes. If I was just walking like I normally do, it would have taken me 40, but I really pushed myself and was ready to pass out by the time I got back home.

20 minutes isn't long, but I was spent by the end of it. It just goes to show how out of shape I really am, and I would love to fix that. I WILL fix it! *insert determined face here*

20 minutes is a great start -and you're doing something rather than nothing...

just keep at it and you will increase that... don't make it so strenuous that you're dog tired and dead and sore for 3 days not wanting to do anyhing.

Consistency is what gets results - that can't be said enough... just keep doing it and you will see it gets easier..

Well done .. :D

Thank you! That's another reason I chose the stroller over the carrier. I knew that I would probably pull something in my back if I carried around 20 extra pounds on the route I was taking. It was just lead to another excuse not to exercise again later today or tomorrow. ;)

Holy. Crap.

It's 5 pm and I haven't cheated yet!

PEOPLE, THIS IS A MIRACLE!!!!!!!!! lol

why are you in danger of cheating?

Be careful about a really restrictive "diet" plan -those are really doomed to fail long term.

You want to be sure that your plan has enough calories (Read the stickied threads to givey ou a good range) and include your favorites in your day.

Pre-planning your day goes a long way to long t erm success..

Because the plate of brownies that I made yesterday is sitting on the counter in plain view.... and I haven't touched them yet, nor will I.

I'm getting enough to eat, no worries. I won't starve myself. :)

Thanks!
