Today I'm feeling worse about myself than I have in a long time. I worked so hard all year to get down to a size 4 for my wedding in June and now I have gained most of it back. The sad part is that most of it came back in the last month. I thought I had been doing a good job with my eating but I guess not. Now I need to get back on track.
I am 5'2 and at my highest weight, in the summer of 2008, I weighed 145 pounds. By June of this year I weighed 128 pounds. I had gotten down to 135 by myself by eating well and working out regularly but after a month plateau I hired a personal trainer and worked out really hard for about 4 months. It took me that long to get from 135 to 128. I maintained at 130 for 3 months and then from October through now I just kept slowly gaining weight despite working out and counting calories. I'm pretty solid (muscle wise) everywhere except my midsection, which is where I can see all the extra weight. When my personal trainer would measure my body fat with that pincher tool, it was always really good at my thigh, arm and back until it got to my midsection.
I eat between 1200-1400 calories a day and I'm trying to work out 4-5 times a week. My new workout schedule will be as follows:
Sunday: 30 min. jog
Monday: 1 hour spin class
Tuesday: off
Wednesday: 1 hour weight lifting class
Thursday: off
Friday: 1 hour circuit training class
Saturday: 30 min. jog
Today I ate:
8am - coffee, non-dairy creamer and sugar = 45 cal
9am - Fiber One Oats and Chocolate bar = 140 cal
12:30pm - Subway 6 inch chicken breast sandwich on wheat, no mayo or cheese and all veggies = 320 cal
Diet coke = 1 cal
Afternoon snack: silk chocolate soy milk single serving = 140 cal
Dinner: baked chicken breast, 1/2 Spanish rice, low fat sour cream and guac = 387
Total = 895
This is way under so I'll probably add a snack when I get home between the soy milk and dinner, maybe some light popcorn.
I'm not working out tonight because I did a work out last night and this week Wednesday and Thursday are my off days.
