Vacations are nice, but wreak havoc on willpower
These past two months have been crazy. I decided to start a diet and have been doing pretty well. But, right smack in the middle was a week and a half trip overseas, a week trip to Portland, a weekend trip home to visit family, and a long weekend where I had family come visit me. 20 days out of 60 that were very challenging to keep to a proper low calorie diet, since it involved lots of eating out and lots of opportunities to drink. It was difficult to know how much I was eating. So I just tried to watch my portions and not go crazy with the carbs and sauces. And eat plenty of veggies.
Still, the weight is slowly coming off. I have been pretty good about getting in an extra mile or two of walking everyday (not so much during the vacations), but I have been seeing consistent, if slow, results. And i haven't gained weight back at all.
I still am having trouble getting motivated to do really active things such as jogging or longer, more strenuous workouts, which is what I desire. It's difficult to find time except in the morning, but i cannot get myself to wake up early enough to do so, even if i get to bed early enough (tonite is not one of those nights) I enjoy working out, once i am doing it, but it's difficult to start it. Ugh,
Anyway, still showing results, but I am having mixed feelings as I would like to see faster results. However, I have in addition to weight lost, lost 1.5 inches off my waist, which is encouraging, and one full dress size.
But, at least ten pounds lost in two months is good, so i should be happy. And slow weight loss is better anyway, right? It means the weight is more likely to stay off.
