My name is justin I'm 30 years old. 5 foot 11 inches. I stepped on the scale this morning it said I was at 283. Currently starving waiting for everyone to wake up and exercise has been none existant.

So just a few years ago I was over 320Lbs. I would eat alot of food during the day more than any normal human should consume in a week all one day. Iv actually won several eating compitions.
So I decided to stop and I dropped under 300 very quickly I stopped drinking pop all together and would eat salad every day for lunch and recently got down to 270 and probably felt better than I ever have.

Recently I decided to quit dipping/snuff about 6 months ago and now I'm off nicotine all together. But I have fell back to eating the way I used t. iv gained 16 pounds back in a hurry. I ate a whole chocolate cake by my self yesterday. I'm sleepy all the time and my doctor has put me several diffrent meds for different things I just feel horrible all together. I almost feel it wasn't worth quitting.

Anyways here I am another day 1 looking for motivation or help of any kind. I would like to hit the 230's but honestly I just want to feel better.

Hi Justin you are very welcome . This is a wonderful forum . You are like a lot of us so don’t worry . Some great stories here and lots of support . And plenty of advice when you need it .
I too would eat a chocolate cake but thankfully not In a long time . If you are a bit of a binger a few of us are on a no binge no purge thread if you want to read it . Well done on losing so far and also quitting the nicotine habits . Sounds like you will focus and nail this too .

Hi Justin and welcome! Losing weight is hard. Quitting any kind of addiction is hard. It´s easier with support though, so let´s do this.

Welcome Justin! And congratulations on being almost 40 lbs under your peak, that is something to be proud of.

You'll be better off not dipping, no tobacco is good for you and I know how addicting snuff can be. My brother was hooked on it for a long time.

This is a great place to get support and help to lose weight, it has been for me. This diary is a great place to start. I suggest you tell us a little more about your diet and exercise. Are you on a diet, or looking for one? Do you do any regular exercise?

I find posting what I eat and exercise to be helpful. It helps me to track things and it allow folks here to better advise and support. You could try that.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks everyone! Yes qutting nicotine was the hardest thing iv ever done or so I thought now I can quit eating everything any sight. I am most definitely a binge eater.

Not sure what diet to try I already feel sleepy all the time so I'm afraid to get rid of carbs and apparently my cholesterol is sky hight so keto is out of the question that's what the DR says anyways.

I'm gonna try to start walking some I'd really like to join a gym if i cant find the time.

Cutting back on simple carbs (wholegrain instead of white bread and white pasta, brown instead of white rice, fruit instead of refined sugar) and upping your intake of greens might help with the sleepiness and weightloss.

Yes I agree with Lama and really any sweet food like candies or chocolate . I used to get very sleepy after eating that stuff . Quick high but then a slump so quickly after

Hi, Justin & welcome to the forum. Congrats on cutting out nicotine. It's one very strong drug. :iagree: with everyone about the addictiveness of sugar. That big high, quickly followed by a massive slump. When I really feel like something sweet I eat an orange. Everyone here follows a different method of "dieting" & it's best to find something that suits you & is sustainable long-term. Finding balance is the key. When you have some medical issues some diets are not a good idea. Are you able to see a dietician?

Hello @Justin325

Overeating as competitions it is big stress and overload for the body and digestive system. Anyway, don't look to the past. It is great you decided to become a forum member. Now you can make a big step :)
When I was reading your first post the first thought which came to my mind is: did you have any blood, kidneys, liver, hormones tests?
