Hi Everyone,

I found this site and was truly inspired by the weight loss pictures and stories. I'm sure I can gain alot from this site.

I just wanted to say hello and tell you a little about myself.

My name is Joey (yup, I'm a chick), I'm a 25 year old Scottish female who has been living in the U.S fo the past four years.

I was slender and in shape up until I was around 20 then I guess I just let myself go. I have been telling myself for the past five years that 'I will eat healthy tomorrow and that I will go and run on the treadmill tomorrow.' I'm sure many of you out there know that feeling? Anyway, I've had enough of being overweight and unhealthy!!!! I started attending my local gym last week and I went every day besides Saturday, I plan on going to the gym six days per week and eating a healthy, well balanced diet......I've cut out soda and beer which I used to drink a fair amount of.

I weighed myself last week on Wed 20th and I was 197 pounds (I was very dissapointed in myself). I do not plan on weighing myself until I have completed my first two weeks. My goal weight is 130 pounds. I know I can do it! I'm very fortunate to have the support of my boyfriend who goes to the gym daily with me and eats healthy with me and has even cut out beer from his diet although he is not overweight at all.

Okay, I typed alot for my first post, sorry! I got carried away :jump:

Joey :)

Support of your man helps a ton! My boyfriend and I are at totally different ends of the spectrum. We both gained weight whil I was pregnant. During Lent he fasted and lost all of his weight. It's a bit tougher for me, but he eats healthy with us.

Hi Joey!
Thanks for commenting on my before and after pics. I saw yours and wow what a difference! Have you started a diary yet? Thats been helpful for me.

Keep up the great work and I'm sure you'll reach your Christmas goal!

Welcome!!!!

good luck on your diet, i know when i cut out soda i lost a fair amount of weight, and now i cant stand the taste of it.

oh do I ever know that "will do tomorrow" syndrome!

Good luck with your goals. Nice work on making it to the gym last week.
