Hi everyone,

I am new to this site and just wanted to share my journey so far. I decided to lose weight for a second time (Lost 85lbs about 8 years ago) because I went for doctors visit and was told that I had high blood pressure and was pre-diabetic at 288lbs (5''4). Let's just say it scared me.

Anyway, I have been on and off my diet for about a year and got stuck at 270lbs. However, I found some new motivation after joining weight watchers online and I am currently at 251lbs. My goal weight is 155lbs. so I hope I make it.

Hey Daasexy23,

Congratulations on your goal to get healthy. I wish you all the best.

Remember that your goals today have to reflect your dreams for tomorrow. Who do you want to be when you reach your goal weight? How do you envision your life? How do you move through your days? Start creating that in your mind now. Begin to live your life as though you were already there.

That was huge for me throughout my journey to overcome my eating disorders. Although I had to take things one day at a time, I kept my eye on my future and, specifically, who I truly wanted to be.

What you do everyday has to fit with who you are, not someone's idea of who you should be.

Do you exercise? Don't wait for the weight to come off before you get healthy. Exercise will reduce most of the risk factors even before the weight is gone. It's imperative that we all move our bodies every day.

Good luck to you, and welcome!

Cheers!

Janet
