Just started need Vitamin suggestions

First post but this forum looks awesome!

Alright I just joined the gym about 2 weeks ago and I have been taking Centrum Performance multivitamins for a week now. Never took any before that one but after reading on here seems like I made the wrong choice.

I am looking at buying some online now I have noticed Source Natural - Life Force to be popular I was also looking at the SealMulti Vitamin was wondering if anyone had any opinions between the two.

Also I am mainly looking to burn fat at the moment but I wouldn't mind gaining some muscle while im at it. I was considering buying some protein as well to take in the mourning with breakfast and after workouts. Since I am just starting this would be alright though or should I hold off?

I found some locally I think the brand was either Abbott or EAS and it was 100% whey protein 23g. Would this be a good starter or is there other choices that are better in a similar price range.

Thanks for the help ahead of time yall!

I like the source naturals myself, but have never tried the other brand.
a protein powder really depends on whether your current diet is giving you adequate protein intake or not.

Ah ok I havent really finished figuring out my diet yet is there a set amount of protein you should eat or does it differ per body type?

its about your current weight, body composition and goals.

If you are trying to be 'fit' or somewhat 'athletic', aim for 1gram of protein per pound of LEAN body mass (body weight minus fat weight = lean body mass).

So if you are 200lbs, 10% body fat (so 20lbs of fat), aim for 180g of protein. Bear in mind I'm using those numbers for ease of math. And its just a general number. If you were carb cycling to get lean, you might have well over 250g of protein a day because you're not eating much for carbs, and crash dieting never works, so you have to replace some of the carbs with protein/fat. (but agian that's just one fat loss strategy)

Well currently I am trying to get myself into a habit of eating 4-5 small meals a day and taking that vitamin every mourning so I haven't been counting all the calories yet.

I havent really come up with a menu of different items yet so I basically eat the same thing every day.

2 eggs a sausage link and 2 pieces of toast in the mourning before I go workout then grapes and bananas or an apple about 2-4 hours after that lunch is a turkey sandwich on wheat with tomatoes, lettuce, and red peppers no sauce/spread (I could use something here other then mayo if someone has a suggestion) then depending on the day ill try and eat some more fruit after that if not for dinner I have a chicken breast that I usually make into a salad or something similar. And some times peanut butter...at no particular time really.

I was considering making my after workout meal into a protein shake with milk and banana if I end up buying that protein.

I have made it almost a week doing this and I seem to be fine and I dont feel like I am starving or anything. I am actually doing better in the gym then I was before sooo I am quite pleased with that as well.

Oh and I wish I was 200 lbs at 10% fat lol...I am quite overweight im 270 at 30%...hopefully I will get that down though over the next year.

I'm taking multivitamins and feel quite good. Before involve yourself in takink some vitamins you should advice your doctor.

I use solgar omnium vitamins ... I take one a day after breakfast ... they don't come cheap (compared to many other vitamins) ... £20 for 30

if you are looking at reducing weight, I'd skip the sausages and eggs for breakfast .... rather have a bowl of cooked oats with a fruit.... and get a juicer and make fresh vegetable/fruit juice ... good for one cup a day before going to gym

I'm also not too keen on these protein drinks, but my aim is to get fit and loose weight ...

I believe in eating healthy. That is the starting point of anything. You can get good protein sources from fish, chicken, turkey and eggs. You can vary them between weeks. Week 1 Turkey, Week 2 fish.
The proteing supplements are also great. I would usually read the labels and also look at price before I make my choice. They do add muscle mass but they are also highly processed. They should compliment an already balanced diet.

If you workout hard then take the supplements. It will help to rebuild and strengthen the muscles that you have torn after a workout.
