Just found the site and it looks like a great place to find info and get support. A little about myself.
My name is Jim I'm 36, been married for 13yrs have 3 great kids 2 boys 13 &11 and my little girl that is 2 1/2. I love the out doors and working on cars. I'm little over 300#'s not sure last time I was on the scale I was 300 and have gained around 10-15 sence then. Befor I was married I was 275 and got down to 180 and felt great, but after marrage and kids I seam to gain some here and there. My short term goal is to get down to 250lbs my long term is to get back to the 180lbs and get back in shape. Anyways thats just a little about myself, hope to meet and talk to some of you folks.

Welcome aboard Jim, and great goals.

Now what do you plan on doing to reach them?

You mention the weight sort of creeped on. Minor changes to your life (a little less active here, a little more food there) and presto... the lbs just sneak on and before you know it, with enough time, you're got 100 lbs to lose.

Starting with subtle, yet profound changes might be a good place to start.

Clean up your food choices a bit, which tend to be less calorically dense.

Focus on hobbies that get you moving - since you like the outdoors start hiking more.

Instead of watching television from the couch, do some sort of bodyweight circuit during the commercials.

The point is - ease your way into a more active, healthy lifestyle.
