Hi all!! Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Lisa, and I'm from North Carolina. I just had a little girl on 11-20 named Caylee. I gained way to much weight during my pregnancy and was chubby to begin with so now I have to get rid of all of this weight, and let's just say that I need all of the support and advice that I can get!! LOL...

I need to lose about 75 lbs...eek!!

I am planning on starting my exercise/diet program tommorow ( Monday ), and I am going to try and stick with it this time. If I had a dollar for everytime I have started a diet and then quit two or three days later, i'd be a millionaire. So here's good luck to me, and to the rest of you!!

I look forward to getting to know you all better, and I'll be spending a lot of time around here..** Hopefully it will keep me away from the fridge!! **

Why have you failed in the past?

I find many people go through this yo-yo approach of on and off again dieting. The amazing thing is, they always use the same parameters each time they diet. If it didn't work for them in the first place, I don't know what makes them think it will work the second and tenth times too.

Welcome to the forum and best to you. There are plenty of resources here, as well as people willing to help. Look forward to hearing more about what you have planned.

Definition of insanty: doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results :-- Einstein :)

Yup....

Insanity seems to accompany a lot of dieters in the context of that definition.

I disagree a bit... The approach can be the same, yet the commitment and mindset could be different.

Nah, IME which you can take for what it's worth, it's not a 'one or the other' proposition.

An 'approach' is comprised of both the planned program of activity and diet as well as the mindset. It's one in the same.

Can't have one without the other if you're in it for the long haul.

So by me saying I find it hard to believe that people try and try again using the same approach, I'm not simply saying they try Atkins over and over again. I'm speaking of approach in the context I stated above.

OK, perhaps the original poster used the right nutritional and workout approach in the past but did not pair it with the psychological aspect...? That's all I'm saying.

That would be in my context, so in reality you aren't disagreeing.
