yey, just joined the local gym.

I used to use weights before, I had a swim today and then poked my head through the gym door and arrrrgh!!! all these sweaty blokes stare at me as if i had just walked into a saloon

should be interesting next week when i make my wy in there with them hahahaha!!!

i think I would feel less self concious if I was in the same shape i was before, the way I look now its as if I have never even exercised by eyelids by looking at a bumbell :smilielol5:

:hurray:Good on ya for joining the gym! Don't give a second thought to what others may or may not think - you joined for YOU!

Here's to your better health :cheers2:

Congratulations on your getting back into the gym. You should never give any thought to what anyone else thinks of what you look like, as that is often the reason why so many people never begin a training program, and it is truly a shame.

Whenever I see someone just starting off in the gym, I am always filled with a sense of admiration, far more so than when I see someone in great shape, as I understand all too well how hard it is to get yourself in there in the first place.

I didn't start out looking the way I do, and I remember all too well how self conscious I used to be in the beginning as well! So stick with it!

Warmest regards,
Kevin Richardson

I also just started a gym right down the street. It's a Bally's and is pretty big. First time I walked in there, there were lots of thin, good looking men and women, and then me. But you know what, after I was on the eliptical for about 10 minutes, I realized I was the only person looking at others. Everyone else is just there to do their thing.
