My fiance and myself just found this forum while looking for "where to start".
We are in terrible shape and decided that it was time to do something about it, but its there is such an overwhelming amount of information out there that we don't know where to begin.
We recently joined our local gym but are having problems on how to come up with an exercise and diet plan.
We are not really overweight but we are in terrible shape due to bad eating habits and low activity desk jobs.
My fiance is 24, weights around 130lbs and is 5'3". She has a skinny upper body but has major problems on the thighs, buttocks, and hips.
I am 25 at about 178lbs and 5'11" my major focus is to loose the gut that has been developing over the past year and afterwards begin to build some muscle ( or can I work on both things at a time? )
What we have been doing for the past week or so is running/jogging (treadmill and the park) for about an hour on Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun.
We are having a very hard time coming up with a decent eating plan ( what to eat, when to eat it, how many times to eat it etc.) everywhere we look there is something different which only ads to the confusion.
We're really glad to have found this place as it looks like a great spot to help keep us motivated.
I have been reading around the newcomers section and everyone seems to help newbies like us feel welcome. I am really looking forward to reading through the forums during the rest of the day.
We are really looking forward to moving into a healthier lifestyle.
