Just introducing myself.

Hello, everyone. I just joined and am looking forward to reading everyone's posts. My friends decided to do our own "Biggest Loser" competition - except we all weighed in together and now no one but me is actually doing anything to lose weight. So, my support system isn't as strong as I had hoped.

On weigh-in day, I weighed 212.2 pounds (February 2) and as of February 15, was down to 205.6. I've been eating MUCH better than I used to for the past six weeks. I cut out fried foods, cake, cookies, candy, soda/juices with sugar or HFCS, ice cream, etc. I eat a lot of salad, broiled or baked chicken, very lean cuts of steak, and a LOT of fruit and vegetables. I joined a gym last Wednesday and have gone four times so far - I work out for about an hour each time, with the treadmill, elliptical machine, recumbent bike, and weights.

I'm hoping my membership here in this forum will help me to stay motivated and learn from others. And, I hope to one day be able to offer myself as a success story and help others reach their goals as well.
