I am 20 years old, I have a 2 and half month old baby. I am looking forward to running around/keeping up with him when he starts walking. I have one problem, I weigh 290 lbs and would like to be in better shape before all the fun comes. Its hard to even do anything when I need to give him his needs/wants. I started out by dropping the soda, so im drinking water now and also Im walking him in the stroller when i can.

Hi and welcome to the forum. You have come to the right place. I too am looking to lose after having a baby (my daughter is 4 1/2 months old). Here you will find lots of support and advice. Cutting out soda is a great way to start. Little changes add up to big results. Try starting a diary...we can get to know you better and you can get advice from lots of people going thru the same thing. :D

Good luck on your journey and congrats for the baby! :)

Cutting soda was def. a great first step. The above poster is spot on, the adoption of small, new habits is the way to go if you want long term adherence and success.

I know you realize that it is going to take a lot more than cutting our soda. When you are ready for the next step, I suggest you start considering how many calories you are consuming each day, since that, at the end of the day, this is what dictates weight loss, gain, or maintenance.

Look forward to hearing from you!
