Hi everyone,

I stumbled across this site during a slack period at work and i cant believe how great it is!!

I have been trying to lose weight unsuccessfully for a number of years (Its all about willpower -and i dont have much of that).

I have been training with a personal trainer 3 times a week for 6 weeks and ive noticed a difference in my face and a little in my shape, but nothing even near what i should be by now. Ive just had 2 weeks off (Holiday for 1 week and the flu-a present from holiday for the 2nd week) and i went for my 1st session last night since i got back from hols.

I have tried to adjust my eating habits and i alternate my cardio sessions with resistance sessions, but for some reason i cant shift the weight.

Im hoping with a little help & encouragement from my new found friends (Thats you guys) i'll be able to acheive my goal.

It's really not - it's about educating yourself and making the best (ie healthiest) possible choices... eating a reasonable amount of calories, ditching the diet mindset, and realizing that it's a lifestyle change and not a short term fix..

How have you adjusted your eating habits? How many calories a day are you getting and where are those calories coming from?
What do your workouts entail?

there's a lot of good info to be had in the stickied threads..

Im eating less "Junk" foods. and making healthier choices. Low fat yoghurts, i dont eat cheese, a handful of nuts or a piece of fruit as a snack.

I think my portion sizes are the main thing that are contributing to my probs.

I try to adjust it but even when ive looked it up on the web, etc when it comes to eating ive usually forgotten what im supposed to be putting on the plate.

I also have a tendency to eat if im bored - and the more i think to myself "Today im not going to eat for the sake of it" i eat more.

I guess deep down i know where im going wrong, but i just need someone to state the obvious (And wire my jaw shut).

Okay so I will go out on a limb here for ya!
Eat less! Don't eat when you are bored. As soon as you feel the boredom coming on grab some gum and start chomping away. I have been known to have a very sore jaw from chewing so much gum. But it really works.
Make sure that your not just thirsty instead of hungry.
Lots of times you think you want something to eat but in reality your just thirsty.
You have obviously taken a huge step into the right direction if you are working out.
Now you just need to get it all together.
You gotta really want it.
Do you?

Thanks Bellaryna - i needed that!

I do want it and this time ive actually made an effort with the exercise. I just gotta get my head around the rest of it!

I WILL do it this time :hurray:
