July 2009 target

I wanna join too!:p I'm a newbie.

I am 5'8" tall and I weigh 153 lbs. I want to lose 10 pounds. I'm really focusing on my jelly roll tummy so I can wear a swimsuit over spring break. I'm really glad there's a group for this sort of thing!

I'm currently doing the Special K diet.

Breakfast: 1 serving of Special K
Lunch: 2 slices of turkey & 2 slices of cheese on wheat bread, 1 green apple, 1 serving of baby carrots, 1 low fat vanilla yogurt cup
Snack: 1 Special K chocolate fiber bar, 1 snack laughing cow cheese wheel
Dinner: 1 serving of Special K, 1 green apple

Hey, uhh I'd like to join this if you don't mind...

I'm an 18 year old girl, and currently weigh roughly 204.8lbs, last count. I've been exercising and eating healthy like EVERYDAY, but I only dropped from 206.5 to 204.8 in about a month tomorrow (or is it the start of the fourth week?) Sigh.
I have senior prom (your version) this year, and I'd really like to wear a size 10, not 14/16.
So my goal is to get down to 145lbs by September... I'll settle for 165lbs by July 1st though...
I don't want to start university... fat. I really REALLY don't. I have so much problems finding a boyfriend as it is... My self confidence is at an all time low now..... =(
But here's the catch: I have school 10 hours a day 4 out of 5 days per week. So I'm limited to skipping. Yes, you heard it..> Skipping.
I do 500 a day, Sunday's I think I'm starting 1000 though. Could roughly manage 100 reps per set though. Hey, 3 weeks ago I started at 60, so I'm up by 40%.

I could really use some support here though. I can't look at the current me in the mirror without feeling slightly depressed.

so I had a rough weekend in terms of eating well...I had my treat day on friday which is fine but on saturday I did a 12 hour relay for cancer and we had a lot of JUNK! It's was good tho haha. I haven't exercised since thursday but I intend to today!

Keep up the great work everyone!!! I'm gonna try and get back in full swing now

Glamourbabe:

Actually, now that you mention it... I have been exercising everyday.. And have a relatively strict diet...
Although, I don't get to do much, because I am a prospective medical student, and I'm studying for finals now... My exercise routine is basically everyday except tuesday and wednesday, skip. I skip 500 during the week, and 1000 on weekends (each day).
My diet is relatively strict too..
What do you think is the average rate I should be skipping then? I'm noticing an overall change in condition (well not me, per se but my mom) but the weight isn't really movign anywhere. Tuesdays I have kickboxing, and Wednesdays I have class till 6:30pm.

I'm gonna try though, for another month.... With a strict diet, and the exercising I'm telling you here... If it doesn't change by March, I'll go check out a doctor...
A gynaecologist right?

By the way, I should mention that I have PCOS.

Well it's not confirmed, and won't be till June, but I'm pretty sure.

And when I said 500, I didn't mean I'm on a 500 cal diet :p
I meant that I skip to 500 daily.. 1000 on weekends.

Hi!
May I join this club? I know I'm a little late, but I haven't had much time to look at all the interesting clubs that started with the new year.

By July I'd like to lose 10 kgs (22 lbs). I've lost 10 kgs last year and I haven't gained anything back in the fall so now I want to lose these last 10. I'm doing a 1600 cals diet and exercising regularly (walking, biking, dancing, skating...it depends on what I'm in the mood for).

July Challenge

Hi all! I am 54 and am 5'4" and weigh 190 lbs. I am new to this forum and would like to be a part of the challenge. I probably won't be fortunate as you guys at losing tons of weight due to my age, but it is a goal and will give me something to work toward and stay motivated with.

I stopped smoking about 1-1/2 years ago and the pounds have packed on. I was dieting and exercising last year (almost all year) and only lost 20 lbs. which was very frustrating. Well, all those 20 plus 10 came back, and now I am so miserable I can't stand it! The doc says everything is good - cholesterol a bit elevated, but that can be controlled by diet and exercise.

I started on the Sonoma Diet (the western version of the Mediterranean Diet) and will be joining a gym today. Time will tell if the combination is a winner or not. One good thing is that I don't have to take a boat load of vitamins to facilitate the weight loss.

Anyone have any suggestions for me? I am open to most anything! I want to wish everyone much success in their efforts and I am looking forward to this weight loss journey!

trimmingthefat - I'm doing a mediterranean diet (being italian it's inevitable) and I don't need to take any vitamin nor any other pill, and last year I lost 22 lbs, so we're on the same boat :)

Good luck with your goals, I'm sure diet and gym will work.

now lost 4 lb pounds from only the 20th jan to 29thjan,just eating right good walks for exercise, playing with my cat/kittens,yesterday for a treat i had a macaroon:smash: the more you invest in yourself (new scales, high protein pudding) the more you want to do it for yourself.
try to avoid any meat if i can but chicken soup and fish on alternate days is helping massively, you need some food inside to burn the calories off,its dropping at a faster rate than i thought it would,i can see a difference in the mirror of my face aswell.seems you burn tons off at night,Before Elvis died he wanted to be put asleep for a few months so he could lose the weight, keep going everyone.

catman, I'm not a professional but from what I know you shouldn't avoid meat...actually you shouldn't avoid any food group but eat everything in the right proportions.

try to avoid meat being a on/off vegie, not really for weight issues, nearly one whole month for me,but only started weighing last week, having a electronic scales over a mechanical helps massively, especially when you can set it to lbs/stone/kgs.

You will succeed as long as you are determined. Apart from determination, you need to eat healthy and balance diet and have proper exercises in a right way. I know a quick diet plan, which may be helpful: eating fiber, lettuce, berry, nuts, protein.

It is this day that marks the beginning o' the second month - only five or so left!
Progress has been steady, as an estimated 8 - 9lbs has been lost (4kgs)... however, l think the results are best seen via the measurements taken. A total loss of 9 and 1/2 inches. I'm quite happy, since I'm not a fan of weighing... as my muscle-mass undoubtedly weighs more and my body fat percentage isn't quite as high as l thought, so l mainly take measurements to heart... But. Wow! 45 inches by June/July lost... intense... when you look @ it that way.

Great to see so many people on board!

(NB: my eatin' habits for the past two weeks have been questionably sane... massive cravings... concernin' muesli... too much... so I've resolved not to purchase anything which causes me to act like a glutton)

instone high protein pudding is very good as the high protein burns off fat quicker than normal,a couple of these a day and your losing a lot fast.its going good, someone i don't like even mentioned my weight loss to a friend.:hurray:

FYI: I checked into the instone high protein pudding and found it to be a discontinued item. I am now down 5 lbs and am looking forward to losing about 55 more! GL everyone!

ss healthfoods sell it on google search,it might be dicontinued but that doesnt mean you still cant get hold of some, its a bit pricey though at over a pound a tin,and has a aftertaste of protein.

Im like you, the scales are not good..haha..but I think ive lost nearly a dress size. Im nearly a UK 12 Im so chuffed! By the end of the month, ill probably be a small 12, big 10 very happy...ill post pics next month ;-)

Cheers for the congrats! Haha. Had a set-back over the weekend. Not good. Not good @ all... made me.. strengthen my resolve however, so l suppose some good came of it.

Well done on your own achievement! I'm sure 10... won't be too far off. It always feels as if... it'd be too good to be true.. but, lately, l beg to differ... If you work hard for it!!! Therein lies the success!

Nothin' to report @ this moment... will when March is upon us! I'm planning on reaching 154 lbs! I've... lots... to do in the meantime... especially after gainin'... 2lbs over the weekend...
