Im absolutely in! I would like to lose abut 20-25 lbs before July 1st, when I see my family again for the first time in a year.
Yesterday I tried to put on my favorite pair of jeans for new years eve and they broke and I had a kind of moment where I decided I couldn't keep living like this. I hope I really stick to it this time!

I'm 22 and a uk size 12, i want to be an 8-10 by june/july :) i'm only 5'2 and i feel really bad at this weigh. Really want to go on holiday this year and feel confident in everything I wear :)

Hi everyone ^_^ I'm about 172-176 but I WILL be 145 at *least* by July!! I'm so excited, this time I'm going to do it the right way. 5 pounds a month...no more starving, or 1200 calorie diets with three hours of exercise. I can already feel healthier.

Count me in! 6 months is a reasonable target to lose weight. Started eating healthy foods.... like fruits and vegetables. I am trying to avoid junk foods and start walking everyday for 5 minutes.

Hello honey

I'm in! I set myself July as my target the other day when thinking about weight-loss. It's my 30th birthday then, and I reeeeeeeeeeally want to be 9st 0lbs, oh to see that elusive '0lbs' mark!! I haven't weighed that since I was about 16 lol

To set the scene, I'm 5'4" and currently 9st 12lbs. I was 9st 9lb just before visiting family for a week over Christmas and came back at 10st 2lbs!!! Shocking damage in 1 week. My heaviest was 11st 5lbs in 2001, but I got a job in a gym (free membership and fitness instructor friends) and met my boyfriend so I brought my weight down to 9st 7lbs by about 2005. I generally sit in the half stone bracket of 9st 7lbs - 10st, size 10 - 12. At the moment I'm just pleased to be back under the 10st mark and into the 9's again!

But this time I want to go under 9st 7lbs. Obviously I will be happy to get there again, but the lowest I've ever seen in my adult life has been 9st 4lbs (two occasions lol!) 9st 0lb (128lbs) is safe for my height and would give me a perfect BMI of 21.6, instead of my current 24.

Anyway sorry for rambling!! But good work on the exercising, I'm convinced that is the key! I went for a run on Weds night (3 miles, nearly froze to death at first but then felt quite strong), did a fitness video for over and hour yesterday (I can highly recommend the Ministry of Sound 'Pump it Up' DVD!), and going for a run tonight and then have a 1hr aerobics class on Tuesday. We are having weekly weigh-ins at my work every Wednesday, so hopefully this will all make a difference to last weeks shameful 10st 2lbs reading!! Having my boss see my weight is quite motivating!

Isn't the curiosity about your weight driving you crazy? You're only going to weigh once a month? I weigh every morning with scales that show fat and water % content too! Good luck with your next workout, and I think being active in your job each day is going to be a great help to you. I have a desk job but walk half hour there and back so 1 hr of exercise there which I guesshelps.

Anyway must stop typing!! Sorry! First post and very motivated!!:newbie:
Keep updating your progress I shall be keeping an eye out for you!

:hurray:

Hiya

You might have a point about the weighing every day thing. It is really depressing me!! I feel so cheated! I excersised 3 times in the last 4 days and the scales don't show one JOT of difference, plus I had been eating really healthily too. I knooooooooooow it's probably muscle gain and change in my body composition/hydration etc etc, but BAH!!

I should just go by the fact that my pre-Christmas clothes are starting to feel better and I know I am generally more lean and toned and less bloated than I have been for a while. It just feels like a slap in the face when I keep seeing double digits of 10st laughing up at me from the scales! Ayii, well I am going to UK for a week on Friday and wont be ABLE to weigh each day, so as long as I keep up the running and DVD's maybe next week (I don't have gym membership either) I will see a difference. I know I am just an impatient person really, after all it is still only 14th Jan, was I expecting to lose 7lbs in 4 days???? hahahah, duh!

Congratulations on your victory over the coat zip!! I feel like that when some of my most fitted skirts fit at 9st 7lb so good for you! And nice that you have exciting things happening in July - I was just listening to Britney on my walk home from work tonight lol. I've discovered 'Shattered Glass' which has cool lyrics but is too short, and Unuuuu-uuu-sual Yoooou hahahaha!! (Please tell me you know the songs I am going on about!!)

Well, tonight is a rare night off exercise for me, though my bf isn't home toil later so I may pootle on the Wii Fit to kill a couple of cals but only low intensity tongiht as I have 2 high intensity classes tomorrow night after work. I love Thursday classes, 6-7pm toning (all sit ups, lunges, press-ups etc til your muscle tremble!!) and then 7-8pm this dance/aerobic class I do. Woo! For me the challenge will be not to eat like a horse at my mum's house this weekend (where Food = Love); it will be hard as her cooking is amazing and she loads the cupboards when I come to stay til I almost feel like I'm offending her if I don't binge!!! hahah how crazy is that.

Well I will have internet access next week despite my travels etc so will keep checking in here. Sorry again for the long ramble; I am actually incapable of typing a short message :D

Hope you're still gping strong xxx:coolgleamA:

Hi, I would love to join too. I was a UK size 8 and am now a size 12. I aim to lose ten of the kilos I have put on, to at least get to a size 10.

I am soooo not motivated when I try on my own, and I hope joining others here will help.

My job involves a lot of sitting, and this is not doing me any good.

I aim to start by going for a 30 minute walk/jog every morning (starting tomorrow). I have also just started a calorie controlled diet. There is this great company that delivers my breakfast, lunch and dinner 6 days a week, and I am limited to 1200 calories a day. I chose that option as I am hopeless at counting calories and if left to my own devices would eat non-stop.

I wish everyone good luck. We can do it!!!!!!!!

hi everyone this july date works for me and a bit beyond maybe, started dieting on the 28th december so just before january, just ordered some salter black glass electronic scales, and last week i got some instone high protein pudding which if you have 2 a day and one before you go to sleep you will feel very bloated next day, which is a good thing, there very high in protein zero carbs, but very pricey.used to do my own calendar shots on the beach/wanabee part time model but no more, that was ten years ago,now pushing thirty just want to be a medium/large mens, currently a xxl but xl t shirts are fitting already, jacket buttons being done up impossible before x mas, lets just support one another and have fun.

Hey all

I'm in the same boat as everyone else. I'm 16 days into my diet and on week 2 of exercising. So far I've lost about 7lbs. I weighed about 189 (christmas weight included) when I began and I'm hoping to lose about 50 lbs by July so 50 lbs in 6 months seems doable! This is the longest I've stayed on track and I'm feeling really optimistic!

Goodluck everyone :)

Aww, I really like the positive up-beat feel to this thread!! Keep at it everyone!!

I have been travelling today and I find that by sticking to my diet, the weight falls off quicker from all the walking, stairs, lugging suitcases, standing around etc... basically constantly moving! I haven't weighed myself in over a week so will be interesting to see what the scales say tomorrow. I'm not too optomistic as I have been abroad and my daily routine has been out of synch, but I intend to exercise tomorrow (Kody - I'm using the Minsitry of Sound DVD! Its great and so much motivational to work-out to club tracks that make you feel good and associate with fun nights out! By the way, how hall are you?)

Good luck everyone, cheery happy bunch that we are! :seeya:

A 6-month time frame sounds fantastic!!! Count me in :) I'm going to be starting a Diary here, too. I think the Diary thing is a great idea :) And this too, of course...let's defeat the evil McNuggets and McFlurries!!!

Hey-hey-hey...

Am currently 167lbs! Plan on losing 40lbs - 45lbs come June/ July. Have lost 28lbs thus far simply by kickin' bad habits to the curb and have recently began to exercise. My fourth week of exercise commences tomorrow and l am cheerin'!
Have noticed differences, however slight they may be. This keeps me... motivated!
Exercise consists of 3 hours minimum to 4 hours maximum per day and includes both cardiovascular endurance alongside strength training, 6 days per week.
Meals are lackluster... but tolerable and features the likes of... wholemeal cereals, muesli, oatmeal, lean meats(chicken, tuna), plenty of fruits and vegetables... bread being the bane of my existence... Oh can't forget the intake of water... 4 - 6 liters about does it (per day)...
My problem... is 'portion control'... since l just don't count my calories! I plan on starting though! Tomorrow! Yes! I'll note down all edible items consumed! Ah!

It's great seein' so many people w/ rad attitudes when it comes to weight loss!!! It really helps!
Best of luck!

Leumas
