Journey, Not A Destination

nah, renting...

But me and my bf are both moving out of parents' homes and in together... exciting, scary, but more exciting! :)

Nope.

I mean I know how it works. But it's not customary to know if it's up to snuff. You have to draft an agreement of sale/purchase first which makes the purchase contingent on the passing of the various inspections and tests.

So though the sellers and I have agreed on terms, the purchase could still not happen if things such as the septic turn up bad.

Follow?

Ahh ok. Thanks for clearing that up, Steve.

I mean I know how it works.
lol I re-worded my question right after posting. Apparently you replied before I finished the edit. But, you understood so its all good.

Haha, gotcha. And the reason you do the testing after the contract is drafted is so the sellers can't go and sell the house to someone else while you're paying for the various inspections to take place.

i definitely wouldn't say i'm smart at buying houses. but it's been a great experience so i feel comfortable when/if i need to do it again.

So you dig guys who drive cars but you, personally, love to drive a truck?

Not just guys that drive cars, but are "car guys". Guys that may have a bit of grease under their nails because they've been wrenching on a motor, know how to rebuild a carburetor for an old classic blindfolded, knows the difference between a Y-block and a W-block. Guys that smell of (clean) sweat, WD-40 and grease, but can clean up nice too. That's my kryptonite. "Car guy" encompases trucks too. (Good thing I'm married to a car guy)

I personally love to drive a truck. I love hot rods & sports cars, but there's just something wonderful about a pickup truck.

Ahh, it's a good thing you didn't marry me then, lol. I get dirty but it's usually not from car grease.

Thanks for the clarification. :)

I haven't. I talked to some people I highly respect and from what I gathered, I wouldn't get much from it although I hear it's a hell of a book. I will most definitely read it eventually... it's just towards the end of my wish list.

I just got done reading Prometheus Rising which was a recommendation from Lyle. Quite the read but certainly not for everyone.

In terms of fitness, right now I'm reading Stretch to Win. So far I'm impressed.

I haven't read a nutrition book in a while.

Alright, cool.

I'm reading 'Guns, Germs, And Steel The fates of Human Societies', at the moment.

Its a really good book so far. I bet you would like it, Steve.

I will check it out. That's the third book recommendation I've gotten today.

The other two were:

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenancefor Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

and

The God Delusion

I really need to buy the God Delusion.

Haha - Every time I try to buy a book I want, I end up having to spend the money on something more essential.

I recently ran a budget for myself and it's ridiculous what I was spending on books. Books aren't going anywhere so I've since made a resolution to not buy any new books until I read what I have.

I'm been slamming through books like it's my job, so I'm well on my way. And that's with a busy ass schedule at the moment.

I would love to make a community on my website where you can trade books. I wonder how and/or if that would work? I suppose you'd have to be willing to take some wear and tear on the books but it would be worth it considering how expensive some books are.

That would be really cool.

I think there would have to be some type of set time limit for book return or something?
Some people take over a year to read 100pages.

Lol - Too bad we don't live door to door. Haha - We would be constantly borrowing and trading books.

Yea, I haven't really thought of the mechanics of it all but if I could find a way to make it work, I think it would be real cool. I guess there would have to be a huge trust factor which is tough to come by this day in age.
