Hi guys,
Well I tried on my spring clothes today as the weather is starting to warm up, and I am a good 15 pounds from fitting comfortably into most of them. Over a year ago I had open knee surgery and recovery has been no fun. My old love running is forever gone from my life so I've taking up walking, and various aerobic machines at the gym. I eat healthy, but my problem is I eat way too much. I decided to finally join this site after lurking for awhile and I hope that regular posting will sort of hold me accountable and maybe give me the incentive to not stuff my face with pasta, rice, etc. every night.

My husband and I have been married for nine years and I was quite thin when we met. Over the years I've put on weight and I know he is not happy about it. I don't feel I need to be pre-marriage thin, but I would feel better about myself If I could at least wear my jeans comfortably. Also, my face looks a lot better when I'm thin which I actually notice more than my fat hiney.

Thanks for your encouragement! Try this new portion control trick!

Hi All,
Thanks for your understanding and support! I just turned down my daughter's Sunday breakfast blueberry muffins and I'm patting myself on the back. Last night I blew it by stuffing myself on rice pilaf. That's my downfall-dinner time carbs. Even though it's pretty healthy brown rice its not good when it's lumberjack portions. I just seem to loose control at dinner time. Tonight I'm going to try a portion control trick I read about. Instead of a regular plate use one of those kids plastic plates that has little areas for each portion. Fill the large section with your veggies and the small section with your pasta, rice or whatever is the most fattening. I'll give it a try and see how it works!! Again, thanks for all your kind words and advice!!
