Hi,

I'm Jiwan Shakti. I just joined yesterday. Hello to all and I am so happy to have found this website/forum!

It is really hard to try to lose weight alone. In fact, I have slowly put on the pounds ever since I started talking about losing weight. Well, I've tried sporadically to work out and then watch what I eat but nothing has been consistent so far. It has always been a wishy-washy thing... more like "I'll around to it one of these days". But the days have gone into years and all I've noticed is a steady increase.

I guess, I'm here right now, because my world has gone topsy-turvy recently with a divorce coming up and other things. I feel I'm here, not just about the weight. In fact that is the result of shifted priorities in my life.

So I want to re-examine my habits and make a positive shift towards healthy eating and exercise. In this community setting, I hope to have success.

Thanks for responding. I was feeling alone and not being able to relate to people around me about wanting to lose weight. So that is the help I'm looking for. Like if I have a question about diet, exercise or motivation, I feel that now, I may be able to ask people who have similar goals and can be realistic about the situation.

About my habits... my greatest downfalls are, snacking on unhealthy foods, not drinking enough water and not having an exercise routine.

hi there Jiwan,
welcome to the site, we are gonna do this ..keep faith and keep strongh! ..i just started a few days ago and im finding it hard to do everything ..eating right, exercising and worst, WATER..im a coke girl (gotta have my cokes) ..But i am feeling good at the small steps i have taken in the last couple of days. ..good luck we are in the driver seat now, we are going to take our bodies back..and kick food, bad moods, mirrows and yes even the weight in scales back out of the drivers seat..its time we drive ahead into success! ..lets take our skinny bodies back that these things have taken from us for so long!....

Thanks Sista! Yeah! I feel pumped :) Reclaiming ourselves... I like that.

I pushed myself today as I did cardio. My first day at the local gym (which Iended up joining today). I kept hinking... "need to reclaim myself"

Hey Jiwan,

Im in the same boat at you, just starting and looking forward to what's to come! One quesion to start off with, how do you guys get those weight barometer things that track your weight loss on the bottom of your posts?

After you put in all your info it then guides you to copy and paste a link to your profile.

I pasted the link from their website into my profile page where is says signature. So that is how it appears at the end of each message.
