Hey if you're one of those guys who wear a matching head band with wrist bands while working out on those ghey ass "chick abductor machines," my invite to the Bed Wrestling Challenge is off.
Damn...
Anyways, Golds was GREAT today. I felt better walking in, and more drained walking out than I have in a long long time.
I have switched up and adapted my workouts a little bit. Before, I was basing the workouts around one, and MAYBE two compound lifts, then filling in the rest with iso's. Now, I'm shooting for at LEAST two compound exercises per session, and maybe even three, and then iso's where applicable.
For instance, Today I did:
Flat Bench Press 5-5-5-4-3 with 325lbs
Military Press 8-8-8 with 90lb db's
Squats with only 315 for 10-10-10 (I haven't squatted in over a year, so I went light)
then I filled in with:
Straight db flys (haven't done DB flys in awhile... nice change from the cables)
3-way delt raises
rope tricep pushdowns
Leg extensions/curls (SS)
Tripple Threats supersetted with MR Hamstrings
2 plate carry for forearms
It felt friggin amazing. I haven't squatted in a long long time because of the multiple surgeries I've had on my knee to repair my torn ACL, and torn meniscus. I just really don't want to put any more stress than necessary on it, but I decided that if I am going to play rugby in a few months that I need to start squatting again to at least start to gain applicable strength before I start training for sport specific strength.
Lookin up!
