Hi there everyone,
My name is Jade. I'd like to lose to weight. We all know it's not that easy though. In all honesty, I struggle so much with weight loss. I'm not going to sit here and lie to myself by saying, "I'm completely motivated, completely prepared." Because that's just not the case. I think that previously, I've gone into "weight loss" telling myself these lies which ultimately leads to a downfall.
Some background info if you're interested: I'm currently a college student. I love school and world issues and just being aware of what's going on. I hope to study abroad within the next year or two. I have no job (though I need one...and am looking). I feel that not having a job makes me prone to eating more. Sitting around in the apartment with nothing to do can and usually does lead to the snack cabinet.
It's weird for me because I genuinely do enjoy eating healthy foods and going to workout. Waking up for an early workout doesn't bother me. For whatever reason though, there are times where my appetite is absolutely insatiable. I'm still not sure what brings it on. I truthfully only have 20 or 30 (at the most) pounds to lose, but these past few years it has been such a struggle for me to shed them. Weight loss takes forever with me and I haven't developed the patience yet.
So where does that leave me? I have a goal, and a realistic one at that. For now my goal is to shed at least 15 pounds by January 1st, 2009. I've decided that each week I'm going to plan out the week ahead as far as working out goes.
Monday:
6:30-8:30 AM: Morning Workout
8:15-9:30 PM: Evening Cool Down
Tuesday:
6:30-8:30 AM: Morning Workout
1:00-2:30 PM: Yoga
8:15-9:30 PM: Evening Cool Down
Wednesday:
6:30-8:30 AM: Morning Workout
Thursday:
6:30-8:30 AM: Morning Workout
8:15-9:30 PM: Evening Cool Down
Friday:
6:30-8:30 AM: Morning Workout
I plan for my morning workouts to consist mainly of more intense cardio with intervals on the treadmill and elliptical. Evening cool downs will be mainly more stretching/core work. I will probably throw a bit of yoga in there.
I think I've figured out what works best for me. If I workout harder in the morning the rest of my day I feel elevated. It leads to better concentration for me during the evening to study. I likely won't be able to workout this much once I get a job but we'll see. Eventually I'd like to incorporate swimming into my routine but we'll see.
Sorry for this ridiculously long first post. I hope that I can find the support here that would benefit me greatly. This seems like a great community and I'm glad to be a new member of it. Stop by, say hi.
Take care all,
Jade
