I've lost all motivation...

Lately, it just seems as though I have no motivation to exercise or eat healthy. It seems as though it's a brutal combination of lack of energy and overall not caring to do so. Even though the holidays were about three months ago, the effects of them have stayed with me. I'm just slowly using all hope at staying healthy, and even worse, I think my metabolism is slowing down. Honestly, I would like to be back down to 145 at least by June. (152 at the moment) If you have any suggestions on what to do about my lack of energy and motivation, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, man, buck up. Been there, done that. Once you get back into the swing of things, you'll get your motivation and energy back. Seriously. Just get your ass out of bed or off the couch or whatever and get back to the gym or to the streets or in front of the video or whatever it is you do. You'll feel a lot better when you do and you'll find that it's really easy to get back into a routine.

Also, what wishes said.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

You can do it, it June is 3 months away, and you have 7 more lbs to lose.

A good balance between diet and energy can be achieved with a calorie deficient of 300 calories per day, which will get you that 7 more lbs.

300 less calories than what you intake is quite achievable, and you shouldn't have a lack of energy with that. And not having that lack of energy will also encourage you to keep going. Just set reasonable goals to get you there.

motivation is such a hard thing to keep...i should know!

if i dont see the scale move in a direction i like when i'm dieting i basically give up and revenge myself upon my body by eating bad food!

maybe check to see why you feel unmotivated and what caused you to feel that way and avoid that?
i plan on avoiding the scale except once a week

Motivation comes from within you..

Why do you want to get to your goal weight? Only you can answer that question and only you can make yourself do it..

It seems as though it's a brutal combination of lack of energy

Excuse 1
overall not caring to do so.
Excuse 2

Even though the holidays were about three months ago, the effects of them have stayed with me
Excuse 3

Replace those excuses for reasons why you can do it...

It's not that you CAN'T -- it's that you DON'T WANT TO....

We're all human, and we all go through these moments. It's the strong ones who work through them by really focusing on what their goals are, why they want to reach those goals and then doing something to move towards reaching their goals.

I hate to sound cliche (sp?), but nothing in life comes easy, especially those last 7 pounds.

If you need motivation, look at some of your before pics then where you are now. Or go read some great weight loss success stories here or at a site like "". Seeing others who have done it and continue to do it really helps me.

But in the end, it's all up to you. There is nothing anybody else can say or do that will make you move, it's entirely up to you. We can be here to support you, but we can't make you move.

Good luck!
