I've got quite the lengthy back story. I'll share bits and pieces with you just to introduce myself. If there's anything you guys would like more details on, please let me know. I'm here to get help and support with hopes to help and support others where I can.
I grew up fat. I got married in 2000, had a baby (my ex wife did the having of the baby, I held her hand) and ended up getting divorced in 2003. During my divorce, my father was diagnosed with lung cancer. You could say these events put me into a pretty bad depression (boo hoo, I know). At this point I was pushing around 360lbs.
In the summer of 2003, my mother had noticed that I was losing weight. I took her comments to heart and started reading online about eating healthy and working out, two things I was not doing at that time.
A couple great (at the time) resources online helped me achieve my goals. I lost roughly 175lbs and my father beat his lung cancer. Life was grand!
I'd like to say that the changes I had made to my lifestyle kept me around 200-185lbs, but they didn't. Well, they would have if I would have kept up with them
The last couple years, I've managed to nearly gain back all my weight. I had a back-flip accident which, of all things, tore my pec. That kept me from working out for about a year. I also picked up a smoking habit from one of my girlfriends so getting back to the gym seemed like a little too much effort.
All bad excuses, right?
Flash forward to this year, I weighed in at 357lbs on my birthday back in January. I'm only down to 346.8lbs this morning, but during my birthday and today, I've kicked the pack-a-day smoking habit so now I have no excuses.
I have pictures of the transformation I went through before, I can share those later if anyone is interested.
tl;dr: I was fat, lost a lot of weight, got fat again.
