Hello, there! I'm a normal female with the problem several other females do. I'd like to know if there is any way that I can lose the last 10-15 pounds around my stomach. I'm getting back to track condition, yeah I know its only November but it rushes by, and I'm trying to get in better shape for sprints. Any recommendations on diet or excersize would be good. Here's my schedule:

Monday- walk for 30 minutes
Tuesday- leg weight lifting, running about an 800 meter, and form runs.
Wednesday- running about 800 meter, working on legs again with special leg muscle building, and form runs
Thurdsay- weight lifting for arms, running the 800, and form runs
Friday - leg weight lifting and a run for 30 minutes
Saturday- run for 30 minutes and arm weight lifting
Sunday- hard run for 30 minutes
crunches and pushes are done all week from 500-200 crunches in a sitting, and push ups are dones as well for up to 100-200 a sitting

I'm having trouble burning off this ugly skin underneath my arms, extra hip fat, and the smallest of pouches on my tummy.

I'm currently 5'4 and I think with the muscle I'm trying to build around 125 would be a good weight for me. I tend to fluctuate around 138-140, and I'm wondering if 125 is a healthy average weight to look for. I'd also like it is someone could give me tips about eating out, major weakness since I go out with my family.

Also, if anyone knows anything about varying up excersizes I'd appreciate it, and if anyone knows any good ways to learn how to sprint better I'd like that.

My goal is to lose 10-15 pounds and to keep it off. Any help would be appreciated. :p

hi there!

Looks like you have a good plan..what part of ohio are you from?? I'm from the findlay area.

welcome aboard!!

Ah, thank you so much for responding. You sure look like a dedicated person there ImaFatass. I'm so jealous I'm not sure if I would have the will power to lose that much weight! I'm glad you like my plan newbride02. I just hope that I can stick to it. I know that's the hard part. I'm from Delaware, Ohio, but I'm in a suburb surrounding it. I just moved there from Tennessee, but my parents were from Ohio so while I fit in socially pretty well; I'm finding that the cold weather is a rather challenging obstacle. Oh, when it becomes icy should I still run or should I look into getting a treadmill or going to the gym because I've heard it's rather dangerous to run when its snowy or icy out? Anyway, I hope that I can become a helpful contribution to this sight, and thank you so much for your kind words.

:) Heya's and welcome love the title!
You should find helpful info and gr8 people
here.Your exersicing looks gr8 just takes time
maybe up the walking/cardio a lil each week?
I keep trying to add a lil to mine even if it's
a block or 2 a week to help continuing losing.
Have a gr8 WEDS,Tammy:D

125 would be a healthy weight ^_^

I'd try upping the cardio a bit (it burns fat, especially around the belly, more than crunches ever could), though I'm curious, what event do you do in track? I'm guessing the sprints?

I used to run track myself, though I was a crazy distance person, haha.

Thank you for your suggestions! I'll sure take them into account. By upping cardio do you mean actually increasing the pace and distance or do you mean increasing the time? I'm personally leaning more towards the trying to increase distance because of time constraints. Also, have a happy Wednesday Tammy! I'm glad that you're trying as well. It's kind of nice to be around others who want to lose weight.
Anyway, triumvirate thanks for answering my question about the weight. I'm wondering if you'd know if I should build muscle while I lose weight or after because I've heard both ideas. I am in fact a sprinter/middle distance runner. I'm working on my beloved 400 right now and throw discus and shot put. I'm also hoping to do the 800 this year. How well I perform in shot put will and on the 800 is a toss up and the one that appears to be my strength will be chosen as my last field event since the 400 and discus have a special place in my heart.
So, you were a long distance. Is it fun? Because I've always wondered about it. My body is unfortunatly the worst distance body a person could have. I have a longer body than legs although my legs are a nice ratio, but my barely 5'4 height puts me at a disadvantage in height and the extra muscle on my arms and legs doesn't always help. Anyway, thank you niapage and triumvirate for helping me out there and being kind enough to reply to my post, and I like the title to niapage even if it isn't that original. Anyway, everyone please continue to work hard.

I meant upping the distance, but I'm not so sure now... Running too long can lower the amount of fast-twitch muscles that you have, making you a bit slower. Lifting weights and sprinting, however, can probably build strength... I'm not the best person to ask about this, lol, I've never done weight training in my life XD

I'm the opposite of you... I'm a daddy long legs, with a stumpy little torso. Distance was pretty fun when I first started out, you'll become obsessed with it if you can really get into it. If you're really worried about height, maybe that would be an option for you... I don't know, just do whatever you want as long as you like it, and it's healthy.

So you like anime, huh? I speak Japanese ^_^ Strangely enough, I don't watch anime, though...

Thank you for the response triumvirate! Thank you for clarifying your point although I can't run for another week now, so sad. :(

I receive a nice little injury on the shins that has bit into the flesh, and I've been given marching orders not to run for at least a week and to ice it as often as possible in 20 minute intervals. It's really nasty. :p

I suppose that I could double the amount of walking time to make up for that, and try to go the same amount of distance, but for now I have to avoid jarring the leg so it's walking for me, whether I like it or not.

Oh and it seems that you have the long distance bug that most long distance runners have. Most long distance runners just love their sport, and I can't help but envy some of their dedication. I must say though they seem to get a rush out of what they do.

The problem with long distance is that I feel that if I run then people will lap me due to stride. Was this a problem with your people, or do you think that shorter people really do better in distance than in sprints?

I also checked out your theory about distance, but everything I read says it doesn't hurt all that much, and in reality I'm trying to work in some sprinting techniques so the long distance would serve as condition and the short distance would be on like Saturdays running sprints. So, the muscles that you worry about wouldn't be as deeply affected.

Anyway, thank you for the advice, and thank you for taking the time to rigth a response. Also, I do enjoy anime, but it really isn't that odd that a person who speaks Japanese doesn't read or watch it, although the written form is manga. It would be like everyone speaking English reading comic books, it just doesn't work that way. So, anyway I do love anime, and I especially enjoy the undubbed type, I get subtitles, because the dub has way too many touchy feely moments while the undubbed version gives you some of these messages but also stays true to the manga so I prefer it.

All in all, I hope you've had a good day and wish you the best of luck on meeting your goals.

Shorter people usually do better in distance, but that's not always the case. For all I know you could have the potential to be a great sprinter, and losing a bit of weight will unlock that even further ^_^ I'm 5'8", and I had people five feet and under run the mile faster than me, lol... Actually, distance wasn't really my best event >< I should have done the high jump, because I was actually better at it than the jumpers, but it's too late now ^^'

Maybe you're right, that distance doesn't effect your speed that much... After all, you're pretty much born with all the fast twitch muscles that you're going to get, and distance could build up endurance so that you wouldn't get as tired during the 400 and 800.

lol, I guess you're right about the anime thing. Good call =D

Why thank you! I do enjoy being right. Anyway, besides that I might try out for distance, but for now I'll work on getting my 400 time up and losing the weight so I can get faster at it. Unfortunately, since I can't run right now that's going to be on hold for about a week, but I'll get better and kick everyone else's butts in the process...I hope.

So, you did high jump. That sounds like fun, but I could never get more than 4 feet off the ground. Of course, the last time I did that was in fourth grade, and none of the girls were good jumpers.

So, thank you for responding to my posts. I noticed that you responded to my eating out one. Thank you so much for that! I really appreciate yours and everyone else's support on this forum! So, I'll keep trying to do my best and I hope you do your best to. :D
