Wow. I guess I have egg on my face. I thought this stuff was bad.

I think these people should be staked to an anthill and covered in HFCS

actually a few months back CPSI -which is af airly trustworthy organization... said that HFCS is really no worse for you than sugar...

I'm sticking with my story that I'm avoiding processed as much as possible - so I stil don't want it in my system... but the ad campaign is pretty funny.

the corn producers have had a web site extolling the virtues of HFCs for a few years now... the ad campaign is for those who dont' read i suppose :D

HFCS, table sugar, honey, and several fruit juices all contain the same simple sugars.
*
HFCS is safe and no different from other common sweeteners like table sugar and honey.
*
HFCS has the same number of calories as table sugar.
*
HFCS is equal in sweetness to table sugar.
*
HFCS keeps foods fresh. It enhances fruit and spice flavors. It retains moisture in bran cereals and helps keep breakfast bars moist.

Yeah, just as healthy. Just ask these rats.

"The medical profession thinks fructose is better for diabetics than sugar," says Dr. Field, "but every cell in the body can metabolize glucose. However, all fructose must be metabolized in the liver. The livers of the rats on the high fructose diet looked like the livers of alcoholics, plugged with fat and cirrhotic."

CSPI (yes, get that acronym right mal) I tend to trust their research - they tend to be fairly ethical which is why i was suprised they said what they did... but they do contend that it is manmade and that's really not preferred...

I am personally super annoyed by these commercials...

It was the tone that got me. I love how the lady pouring all the children the cups of syrup and food coloring was the responsible one and the lady that thought it was a bad idea was an idiot. I'm sure all this crap is just fine by her also

I really just hated how the woman who said that it was bad had absoloutely no response for "its made from corn, so what?" I mean...come on..if she knew it was bad, she must know something more! Retaliate! HFCS does crazy things to your blood sugar levels...

I would have been like "heroin is made from poppy seeds, maybe after dinner we can do some smack while the kids play?"

Uhh - she's an actress getting paid to not retaliate :)

Since When Is Corn Healthy?

This was bad and to believe some people if not a lot believe this. I bet a lot of people didn't know that Corn has no nutritional value. If it did it would digest correctly. Why do you think it comes out the other side intact. That is why I try to do away with Corn all together.

Uh...what are you talking about? Google. Google. Google. Corn has plenty of nutritional value.

If you're seeing it coming out the other side intact, you need to chew your food more. Seriously.

If you're thinking it "causes" pellagra, you're wrong. It doesn't. Pellagra is caused by a diet deficient in niacin, and it's found in some areas where corn is a main staple. Untreated corn is not a great source of niacin but that doesn't mean it has no nutritional value.
