It feels like it may be time to change it up.

I feel like I'm platueing. I've been in a routine as far as training for nearly 5 months. It's been amazing, I've lost 40lbs and have gone through a huge transformation but I'm starting to get bored. Same gym, same trainer, same time, same basic routine (some variations). My food has been a bit inconsistant the past couple of weeks and maybe that's really what's going on and I'm feeling bored with training as a smoke screen for food issues. I've still been losing 1 to 2 pounds a week but I fear this weeks weigh in maybe off.

Has anyone gone through this?

I have been doing minimal weight training. So I started to do some more weight training these past 2 weeks. Lifting weights always drives my appetite through the roof. I almost wish I never read all these posts on weight training. It started to make me think I needed to add it into my routine, so I did and now I'm feeling hungry all the time, worse then ever. I guess the key is to be true to yourself. I am seriously rambling but I can't sleep. My brain is trying to convince me that I need to eat. It's a horrible relationship I have with my mind...lol

Are you following a set food plan? Since you're increasing your activity level by adding weights perhaps it's time to adjust the calories you're taking in.

I have been there myself Hollywood, discouraged, beating myself up. Tried all types of remedies and the best I have found was to take a few days off completely from training. It helped to come back recharged. It also helps to change up your routine a little do different exercises, just one or two for a little variety (helps with the boredom).
As for all the post about weightlifting, routines, etc. it does getting confusing and bewildering sometimes. Makes you wonder if you are doing the right things. Just remember everyone is different and you have to use what works for you and what feels right for you. Even if your weigh in this week is a little off don't get discouraged, next week may be awesome. You have been doing a GREAT job and you are one of the members who help keep me motivated.
Hang in there and know we all are behind you 100%.

I just woke up and started reflecting on this week. I definitaly had some ups and downs with my food. So to answer your question stingo, no I don't have a set food plan. Though up till a week ago I did have a basic food routine. But this week I ate more and some stuff I hadn't been eating. So I just weighed in and I'm the same weight as last week - 192.7. Which all things being equal I guess I got off easy. At least I didn't go up.

So this morning starts a new chapter in my weight lose journey. I'm going to return back to a stricter food regiment. Smaller portions, better choices.

I've done some hard things in my life; military, make a living in the music business etc.. but losing weight has been the most challenging.

Time to walk the dog and hit the gym.
Thanks guys.
