Isometrics

I was thiking of just doing some isometric excersises everyday, working different muscles each day of the week. I don't know that many isometric excersises though... So could someone give me a good schedule that I could work with?
Thanks!:)

why do u want to do them? u probab;y shouldn't do them if u don't no wat they are and what they do...do u have equipment for them such as a power rack or something?

I know what they are. It's putting force on an immobile object... Basically. I don't have any equipment. Just the wall... If I shouldn't do isometrics then what shoudl I do to work my whole body and heart. Could someone give me a schedule for that.

Go to and use some of his program stuff involving pull ups and push ups and bodyweight squats.

You might venture into building a sandbag.

bodyweight stuff is way better and there are so many more options with it...here's something for you:

also do what evolution suggested and just use heavy household items and hold for time, reps or distances etc

Why do you want to do isometrics?
you may wanna double check with Evo, but I'm not sure isometrics are a good enough way to build size or strength.
Sure you can build some muscle with Isometrics but very little compaired to using a full range of motion.

Its great to chop and change bettween training systems but you'd be much better off changing exercises and weights and reps.

try changing bettween lifting heavy for 4-6reps for two weeks then change to 10-12rep, then 8-10 reps.

No. They are isotonic.
Awesome.

Isometric holds can be a very useful tool when used with a regular lifting routine (bodyweight or otherwise). It is comparable to drop sets, negatives, etc.. Something to help kick your ass.

Isometrics iPhone App

As mentioned elsewhere, I have been using a new Isomterics iphone app, which I am finding very useful.
There is a video walkthrough on you tube you can see by searching Isometrics app, which gives quite a good idea of the app.
Hope that helps

You just need a series of exercises that you can work into a routine every morning and night. I don't think a video is a good use of your cash, especially when there are plenty of YouTube vids for routines.

The website How to Do Things has a good page. I also heard good things and saw decent reviews about the IsoBo Fitness.
