hey everyone!

just new to the diet thing and looking to see if anyone can let me know if this is a healthy diet for me to be eating, trying to loose about 40 lbs. currently 200lbs, and lost about 7lbs throughout the last 3 weeks (mostly water weight i presume) but im feeling a little discouraged as the last few days i seem to be at a stand still. i am very active and i know that goes hand in hand with a healthy diet to see results but pleas tell me if this is a healthy meal plan for a day

(keeping i mind i was a sucker for junk food, candy bars, chips, fast and fried foods and pop and juice so this is a big change for me, bt wondering am i eating too much)

breakfast

2 poached eggs

1 whole grain toast

2 slices of fresh pineapple

2 big glasses of water

herbal tea no milk or sugar

lunch

salad (roasted red and yellow peppers, few almonds, bocconchini cheese, cherry tomatoes, onions and cucumbers, some wine vinegar to dress)

2 small melba toast crackers

2 big glasses of water

snack

small portion of yogurt

dinner

an ounce of seasoned backed boneless skinless chicken breast

steamed veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots)

2 big glasses of water

then snacked on a few almonds, and then later i had 3 crackers (breton whole wheat) and half an orange.

and 2 more glasses of water.

please anyone who has any tips or advise i will be happy to listen to positive feed back :) thanks!

Hard to say without more detail but it looks too low to me.

1 ounce of meat a day? the eggs and cheese will help but that's not a whole lot of protein.

Check the calories for the bread, crackers, almonds and cheese. those are the only parts that look like they could add up quickly so if it's not them taking you over it's probably too little.

I agree with Tourny,

It seems too low - you need to eat 3-400 Calories per meal (Depending on your calorie needs) for 6 meals per day. Yeah it sounds like a lot but it's easy to adapt to.

Also - exercising will definitely help - I know some people don't have enough time but I'm also sure those same people spend at least 30 minutes in some type of facebook/twitter/youtube/TV so I know you can fit in that too.

Other than that - keep at it. You didn't gain all that weight in 1 month and you aren't going to lose 20 in 1 month so as long as you keep it up - by december you should be looking your best and have met some type of resolution.

Let me know if you have any questions.

If you are looking to cut weight, definitely add more protein to your diet. ie: after workout, have a protein shake! As for the rest of your meal plan, I honestly think it looks great! You are eating completely healthy! I agree with david.. you arent going to lose it all right away! HOWEVER i do think that the limited calories are great for right now! your daily menu looks like enough, with the addition of a protein shake after workouts! calories burned>calories consumed = weight loss!! just a tip... when eating "wheat" things.. look at ingredients, make sure it is titled WHOLE WHEAT, "multigrain" or just "wheat" means that they most likely took the wheat germ out of it, which in turn, isnt any better than eating white bread :) ALSO be sure to drink lots of water throughout the day :) GOOD LUCK!
