is my well-deserved day off really well deserved?

hello everyone!

today I've decided to take a break from exercising because I'm on my period and in one of those don't-even-feel-like-moving moods, and need some reassurance that I shouldn't feel guilty about it. I shouldn't, right?

well, here's some background: I'm a reformed yo-yo dieter. after I lost my first 70 lbs. two years ago, I struggled my whole junior year of high school to lose the rest and didn't. that's when I really became a yo-yo dieter, but I finally learned how to lose that last bit of weight, and I've been doing really well. this is my 13th day sticking as closely as possible to my 1,550-calorie diet and exercise regimen, which consists of 4 days of circuit training and 3 days of running (usually high interval running, to blast that last fat).

considering the longest I've gone being this good in the past year was two weeks about two months ago, and I am still going strong, I feel okay about resting today. and usually when I'm pre-menstrual, I eat half my kitchen, but I'm already about 75% done with my period, and I haven't eaten anything I shouldn't.

so, any thoughts?

Your body needs a rest day every now and then anyway. Take the day off from exercise and get back to it tomorrow. I always take a rest day on Sundays - every week. It's those rest weeks and rest months that get people in trouble. Enjoy your day off.

Griff is absolutely right. I have a day off every Sundy as well. You can over train yourself pretty easily, and then you do not get as much bennefit as you would otherwise.
