I dont mean no activity at all.
But what I have been doing and just eat better.
Is that a possibility?

It is possible to lose weight w/out exercise. Plenty of people do it.

However, when you lose weight, you don't just lose fat, you lose lean muscle. If you don't exercise, then you lose *more* lean muscle. If you exercise properly (a combination of lifting weights and cardio) then you lose far less lean muscle and more fat.

It's up to you to choose which you prefer.

You need to also look at how you will keep the weight off when you get to where you want to be.

What is your plan for keeping the weight off once you get there? Do you plan on permanently eating less since your old way of eating and activity level clearly made you bigger than you would like to be?

As Kara mentioned - not exercising can result in you losing muscle when you lose weight. This has a direct bearing on how many calories you burn in the future. It is quite possible that after losing weight you could gain weight at a quicker rate than before if you return to your old lifestyle (since reduced muscle mass burns less of those calories leaving an even bigger surplus which goes to fat).

Many people that do not exercise come a little unstuck with this aspect and regain the lost weight.

For many of us - increased activity levels as a way of life is a major part of our long term plan for not putting the weight back on.

Without increased physical activity, the only way to lose weight is to cut back on caloric intake. So for example, if you normally take in about 1800 calories per day, you would have to cut back to 1400-1500 calories per day.

If you don't use the knife, the knife will not be sharp ....

This is same as human too. If you don't work/exercise, your body will be weak. All you need is just maintain your exercise, have balanced & healthy meals and your body will be strong, healthy and fit.
