Ok the title doesnt say much, ill elaborate

Basically when i was 10 i was very big for my age and my parents put me on a diet, and i lost 3 stone and then i couldnt get past 8 stone, no matter what i did i couldnt, so i gave up and got fat again.

so fast forward 10 years, i was on a diet, got down to 14 and a half stone and just COULDNT get past it at all, so i gave up

And now nearly 3 years later it seems to be happening again, im 14st 9 atm, and i have REALLY struggled the last 2 weeks and i keep thinking im not going to get past 14st 7(as the last time thats what i couldnt get past) Is it possible for your body to have a limit that u can lose every few months or am i just being a spaz. TBH im worried this kind of negative thinking will only drag me down

That would be your problem, right there. Two weeks is a drop of water in the bathtub of your life.

Take off your jacket; stay a while.

P.S. The mentality you're referring to is some bullshit "fitness gurus" like to enable by making up concepts like "the set point". There's no such thing. It's right up there with "do five hunnerd crunches per day and ull get sick abs" and "wymmin shudnt lift waeits or theyll get hyooogeee" in terms of merit. And only slightly below the lemonade diet.

Most of the people I've talked to that hit "plateaus" do so because of calorie creep. Basically, you're ultra diligent about what you're eating for awhile and you see results. As you get closer to your goal, you become less diligent and slowly but surely an extra few calories here and there start creeping into your diet and you stop losing weight. It's always good to take a step back, if you haven't lost any weight for a significant amount of time (more than 2 weeks, let's say a month or longer), and re-evaluate/re-calculate what you're eating if you've stopped measuring and being diligent.

ya maybe 2 weeks is not too bad, im just worried it will lead to me giving up as i have before , the times before i was pushing at it for over a month and NOTHING, i even went to the doctor about it (it was 4 weeks at this stage) and he gave me tablets to help, but no nothing at all- so i gave up

Just dont want it to happen this time im so happy in my progress i dont want it to be a waste

There is a basic limit that your body normally regulates to, but that doesnt mean you can't overcome it! It just takes hard work and perseverance!

If you're considering giving up - it really sounds like your mindset is totally off.. that you're only dieting - and have no real plan what happens when you get to your goal...

That will never be successful..

Ditch the diet mindset and work towars lifestyle change -that way -there's nothing to give up and worst case - you maintain and not gain anything.
