is consistency the key?

hello all!

I was just wondering - do any of you find that when you start a new plan (or when you switch things up a bit) that the real results show up after the second or third week of consistently sticking to your diet and exercise regimen?

that seems to be what happens to me. I won't look much different, and the scale won't budge for days and then BAM - I can instantly see the difference (on the scale and in the mirror).

if so, do any of you know why this happens?

p.s. I'm working on those stubborn last 10-20 lbs. so I'm talking about slow weight loss, i.e. a pound each week.

Im the opposite. I seem to plateau every 5 or so pounds. I don't know why. Last week I lost 5 Lbs and this week I lost half a pound. I didn't change anything. I need to come up with new ideas all the time.

I guess it's all reletive. Some people do one thing while others have to do others.

true, very true.
hm, well I'm going to have faith in the fact that catch-up weight loss seems to be my pattern.
I found out today though that I was overestimating my calories about 100 calories or so! isn't too bad, but I vow to make this week better! hah. :)
