Irish girl ... Ready to finally lose this weight

Hey everyone, my name is Sarah. Im looking to lose .....wait for it....150 lbs , apparently my ideal weight is 135 lbs and i am now 285lbs...Im 6 ft tall and i carry it well but thats not good enough, not anymore. Any advice?
 
My number one tip is to get a pedometer and wear it for every step of the day. Allow it to challenge you to walk further than the previous day. They really help people to become more active.

I'm new to these forums, but the amount of motivation and strength of will on these boards is nothing short of incredible and inspiring. 150 pounds is super-doable. Whittle away at it little by little. Keep a chart of your progress. A lot of times, we unfairly ignore the tiny positive changes we get day by day, in lieu of looking to that massive milestone. It helps to keep a fairly frequent record of your progress, and then at certain intervals (say, every 5 days) compare the latest data with your starting stats.

Good luck! And remember, there's absolutely no way you could not succeed. You'll always end each day better than you were the day before. :)
