Hi everyone,

I'm new to the site and I'd like some advice and support. You see, I honestly don't know how to diet. It seems that whenever I try to lose weight I just stop eating completely, and that has never worked out well..The problem is, if I'm eating healthy I don't feel like I'm doing enough, and I eventually crack and binge. I'm going to start a food and exercise journal to keep myself on track...Any other suggestions?

I've decided to try and lose 30 lbs with diet and daily exercise. My goal is to work out by swimming and walking everyday and stay under 1000 cal per day. (I am a petite female)

How tall are you and how much do you weigh? I'm going to guess that under 1000 calories/day is unsafe and not what you should be doing.

Calculate your , use that number to calculate your total and lastly, from that, subtract 500. That's how many calories per day you should be eating to lose 1lb/week.

I highly recommend getting a account to track what you eat and make sure you're on the right track.

30lbs is definitely achievable and there's a tonne of good information in the stickies and from others around here.
