Introduction

Hi everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Shelley, and I'm a 28 yr old wife and Mom. I joined because I will power alone isn't going to get me through this and I hope to find support here. I started 3 weeks ago at 243.5 and have lost 11 lbs so far. I'm doing it the 'right' way through changing my eating habits (breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner) lo-fat, veggies, fruits, etc and through exercise. I do aerobics after breakfast, then in the evening I will do my elliptical and either another set of aerobics or with weights (I interchange days.) So far, things have been going really well. I got over my hardest hurdle, which was giving up junk food and cokes, so I think I can really be successful this time. Wish me luck and keep me in your thoughts please!!!

So far, so good. I've been eating right and exercising for four weeks as of yesterday and have lost 12 pounds. I want to lose the weight fast, as if I gained it fast. I've just got to be patient and take one day at a time. I have no intention of going back to the way I was and I'm happy about that.

Excellent, do it to it.
 
Sounds like you're doing great and on the right path. If you treat it as a long term solution then you're more apt for success. My only advice is to vary your exercise once you get up to a base line level of fitness, try some things like hiking if you have that kind of terrain in your area, have some fun with it as well.

Hi Shelley! welcome!! You are off to a great start and this forum has been a wonderful place for support!! I started at 240 and have worked my way down to 180!! Once you make the decision and stick to it that is all it takes!! Good luck!!
 
ok maybe I got ahead of myself saying that's all it takes but it is a great start!! lol;)
 
Thank you all so much for the support. Just an update. I've lost 17 lbs so far. I haven't had a 'failure day' so far, and I hope not to. This new way of life has given me more hope than I've had in years. Thanks again!!
