New member
My name is Justin and I'm new to this forum. I'm a 33 year old father of 7 and am engaged to a beautiful woman whom I love dearly.

I am morbidly obese and last weighed in at 550.1lbs. This is down from 599 less than a year ago. My goal weight is around 350-375lbs.

Am tips/tricks/hints or exercise suggestions are appreciated.

I am very adverse to surgery and doing it that way. I would like to do this naturally if at all humanly possible.

Thanks for taking the time...

Big J I think you have already taken the step to a new you!! You can do this. Remember take it one day at a time and you will get there. Just be patient.

I was once told you have to change more than you want to stay the same. I am new here and learning myeslf. The key is to move more and eat less calories. Find out your daily target calories, start exercising and increase it as you go along. You will get there.

I applaud you for taken control of your health and look forward to your journey! Congrats on your engagement!

Ps. I would also start a journal on here to put your thoughts out there. I would encourage you to take measurements and update every so often. That can be a HUGE motivator!

hey big j,
welcome to the forum! your definitely in the right place. there's lots of useful info in the stickies on where to start with nutrition and exercise. the one thing i tell everyone is just keep going and don't look back, if you have a bad day, don't let it get to you and just keep going on the next day.

i joined the forum at about 350 and i'm now at 336...i still have a looong way to go but just losing those few pounds makes me feel a little more encouraged and want to keep on going everyday. i have my share of bad days where i just eat wrong and don't exercise, but the next day i clean up my act and keep moving. currently i'm on week 8 of exercise and have been eating for just a bit longer. being in the forum makes me not feel like i'm alone in this anymore.

the fact that you've joined this site shows you definitely want to change. there's lots of great people on here, and the best thing is we're all on the same journey and so can encourage each other. WE CAN DO THIS!
