Introducing myself

Hi guys, My name is Seth Albright. I am a graduate of Marshall University with a degree in exercise physiology. I am a personal trainer, boot camp instructor, author, and speaker. I hope to help contribute as much as I can to this group. Let me tell you a bit about my story. I was always overweight growing up. At the end of my freshman year of college, I was up to 300 pounds. That's when I decided to change my life. I switched my major to exercise physiology. One year later, I was a lean 180 at 6 percent body fat. So, I know what it feels like to be overweight. I know the challenges. Been there, done that. I now dedicate my life to helping people lose the fat and keep it off for good. I still maintain my body weight to this day. If there is anyway I can help you, let me know!

Welcome Seth,

Can you recommend a routine to start with (exercise)? I am 48, do not exercise at all but I did just start up at my local gym.

I started with 5 minutes on the treadmill, followed by 1 set of 20 reps on the various machines at about 20-30 lbs (about 10 different machines and each one varied) and then 5 minutes on the eliptical and another 5 minutes on the treadmill.

It sounds like I didn't push myself at all but I don't want to hurt myself..... am I doing enough and when should I increase it? How much is enough? I would appreciate your feedback.

~Lise
