Introducing me.....

Hello Everyone!
This is my first time on this site. I'm hoping to get some support motivation from other people with the same goals. In the past few weeks I have lost around 10 pounds. I am happy with my weight. I'm 5'8", weigh 132 and I wear a size 4. Now, some of you may be saying why are you here? Well, I'm here looking for some suggestions and help as I do the "maintenance" work on my body. I want to get everything toned and tightened. Summer will be here before you know it and my boyfriends family just bought a beach house. This means I will be spending a lot of time in a bikini this summer and I don't want to wear shorts and sarongs to hide my problem areas. I just turned 30 last month and it's very important to me to get in shape and be proud of the way I look. My problem areas are my buns and thighs......I'm sure that all you ladies are really shocked to hear that....imagine, a woman who doesn't like her buns and thighs. If anyone has any suggestions of things that have worked for them to tone these area I would really appreciate the help.

'm sure that all you ladies are really shocked to hear that....

LOL! You're right - imagine any of us not liking the way these regions look! ;) Unthinkable really!

Seriously Phillygirl,
Welcome to the WLF - good for you for wanting to improve your level of fitness and get toned.

I think that's important no matter where we're at, scale-wise and there's always so much we can learn and areas that can be improved through better fitness!

All that being said, ok, I'd LOVE to be 132 and a size 4 (I'm about your height!) What great motivation to me to know it's possible :)

What's your workout routine look like?

I just joined LA Fitness with my boyfriend.....who by the way makes me sick. He eats whatever he wants and has an amazing body! Men!!!!!! I am alternating weights and cardio. I do a lot of lunges and walking lunges with weights. A trainer told me the other day a great way to tone the bun and thigh area is to do about 30-45 minutes on the elliptical backwards. (please ignore if I spelled that wrong spell check was confused with this one) This is supposed to really work the back of the legs. I really like this machine because there is no stress on the knees. I'm averaging around 3-4 times per week at the gym.

Phillygirl,
That sounds like a great plan - I don't work with machines (I hate gyms), but lately, I've been adding some kick backs, lunges, squats and abductor exercises into my routine.

I'm sure if you've got access to a trainer, they can be of great advice!

It sounds like you're so right on track :D
