***Avoid the wall of text here: Hi, I'm Mike, I'm getting in shape. (or trying to)

Hey guys, thought I'd throw up an intro. My name's Mike, I'm from NY. I'm 6ft tall and I used to weigh 240lbs, then I spent 2 years doing cardio and changing my eating habbits and dropped down to a fairly muscleless 165. After highschool I got into a relationship and got an office job, just before this I blew out my knee and had to stop running, this all piled up and brought me back up well over 200.

I recently quit that job and quit that relationship and moved out to a new city and for the past 2 months I've been running daily and doing weights 3 times a week. I havnt checked but I'm probably back to around 185 and I'm very happy with where I am and how well I've been able to pick it back up, however I would like to lose alittle bit more weight, and add a bit more muscle.

The biggest thing is maintaining what I've got going on, I thought this might be a good site to get ideas, tips, support, for work outs and eating. Also just seems like a friendly supportive group.

Welcome aboard, Mike. Glad to hear you were able to get a grip on your health and body again. Motivation is the hard part for most and there's definitely no one clear cut way of establishing and maintaining it.

For me, it's about identifying myself as someone who is active, turning to others who have accomplished what I'm setting out to do, writing and updating my goals and my "whys", and on and on it goes. Cultivating the mindset takes as much effort and consistency as the other pieces of the puzzle.
